I'm at 58 out of a total of 120 (hopefully). You can do this.

Your quote had a [/quote] in both locations, the first location needs just [ quote ] (without the spaces) then the second gets the slash.

Avoid the fear blogs and decide for yourself. Here's two excellent discussions about it: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1308408/why-aspartame-isnt-scary/p1 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3198517/ It's really all up to you. If you choose to eliminate all artificial sweeteners, good for you. If…

My first 50 lbs! Start weight: 307, Current weight: 257. Losing my first 100 lbs is the first goal, ultimate goal is about 120 lbs total.

Congratulations! I'm a big advocate of cutting down on diet soda and replacing with water but don't believe elimination of diet soda is necessary from an aspartame perspective. Read this and see what you think. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1308408-why-aspartame-isn-t-scary?page=1

Indeed!

I was over 300 for about three years. As of yesterday I'm down 35 and can already feel it. I'm on a 120lb journey myself and refuse to give up. Keep going man, you can do it. And remember: If you quit now, you'll go back to where you started. When you started, you desperately wanted to be where you are now...

Welcome to the first step in your journey....meeting ME! lol Seriously welcome and remember, YOU CAN DO THIS!
-
I know, right? LOL

Thankfully you'll find a lot of wonderful support out here, (unlike this guy). I lost 32 lbs a couple years ago then gained it all back. Very tough fight for all of us but all we can do is keep trying. This time around I've surpassed that previous loss and haven't lost sight of what I'm after. I'm on a 120 lb journey…

Sometimes the biggest battle is showing up! You're on the right track and wishing you much success on your journey! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like.
-
Thank you! Everyone keep up the good work!

Our success only comes when we win the battle of the mind. One of the toughest fights we'll ever face. The good news is you can do it! I have faith in you. ;)

The "taste addiction" is a major downfall.

I'll happily support anyone! Thank you for your kind words!
-
Why thank you!

What did it for me was putting up a picture of me before the weight loss and a pic of me at my current weight. I was amazed at how much it showed, though I was still overweight with a long way to go. Pant size is nice but shouldn't be the measurement because that will all come in time. Focus on the continuous efforts…

So much at such a young age! Good that you're taking ownership of the things you can fix, starting with yourself. Friend request sent!
-
LOL thanks for the help!

Simply superb! Glad you found that place within yourself to implement the change you need in order to get your life back. You're well on your journey and will hopefully attain your goals. Best advice I can give is NEVER stop logging in MFP. EVER. I dropped 32 lbs 2.5 years ago and hit a point where I wasn't logging…
-
Keep going and let us know when you hit those last nine!
-
Happy to be of service! lol

Simple enough for me. Spoil your stomach by giving into every whim and desire and satiate yourself with high calorie foods and don't work out. Those days are over. I'm below 300 and heading for 200 with a vengeance. Time to correct the mistakes of the past.

There were two I distinctly remember. RUNNING - Michael Douglas movie about doing a marathon. Picked it up again and enjoyed it the second time too. The Loneliest Runner - Michael Landon and Lance Kerwin (yes I'm showing my age). TV movie from 76 that's on youtube now.

Definitely mini goals. For me I started with my first five pounds and then moved to 10. I'd lost weight a couple years ago so set a target to get back to that same weight level and then to move beyond it. 10 more pounds and I would weigh the same I was at in 2005. That was a big one for me. Your battle starts in your mind.…

Gladly added you! Appreciate the kind words, and anything we can do to help each other out as we engage in mortal combat with our stomachs is a win for all of us!
