170 pounds since January 2013. Been using MFP the whole way. I lost the initial 70 through pure calorie restriction and cutting back intake of processed foods. I lost my most recent 100 pounds in the past 11 months doing the ketogenic diet, cardio (biking and 5k running), and weight lifting (ICF 5X5). I expect to lose my…

Lifting > HIIT cardio > LISS cardio. The more muscle one has, the higher their BMR is which results in more calories burned. And ya, no spot reducing. Your body burns where it wants to burn. Just keep at it.

We use our spiralizer two or three times a week for zucchini/squash noodles for alfredo pastas or stir fries. Love it.

Mark isn't entirely correct. Carbs are not necessary. Once you enter ketosis, your body burns fat for energy to a certain limit (that limit is typically found by ultra-athletes). If you are interested in the low carb lifestyle, check out www.reddit.com/r/keto and read up on the FAQ. Keto has fit me very well.

New workouts typically result in increased water retention as your body works to repair muscle. Maybe that's part of the plateau. I wonder if the bigger issue is that of accurately counting your calories? I find that when I eyeball my food, I underestimate my intake. If you aren't already, try measuring all of your food…

That after losing 170 pounds, that my eyesight would improve in each eye by at least one diopter. Also, how great it is being able to find amazing clothes in my size at Goodwill.

I love keto and have found it to be a very sustainable lifestyle. I have lost over 100 pounds on keto in 11 months. However, to each their own. I lost 70 pounds pre-keto by just restricting calories and eating a mostly vegetarian diet. To lose weight, what matters is eating below maintenance. You can do that on mostly any…

This one hits the nail on the head. There is no magic solution-only calories in versus calories out.

If you are really needing potassium (be careful with intake as it can affect your heart), supplement by mixing some Nu-Salt with your water intake. A little goes a long way.

If you are going to be consuming a fat, coconut oil is one of the best ones for you. Being keto-adapted, I consume coconut oil for the MCT energy benefits.

Find what works for your body. Being keto-adapted, I do a pre-workout shake consisting of 2 scoops of Isopure protein, a tablespoon of coconut oil, a tsp of karo light syrup, and 8 ounces of coffee, with the rest of the shaker filled with water. Gets me through pretty intense 6 AM cardio and strength workouts.

My favorite playlist (on shuffle) includes songs from: Arkona, 5 Finger Death Punch, Ensiferum, 311, Amon Amarth, White Zombie, Godsmack, King of Asgard, In This Moment, Slipknot, Rage Against the Machine, Beastie Boys, Marilyn Manson, Trapt, Saliva, Sick Puppies, Disturbed, Guns N' Roses, Eminem, Ice Cube, Westside…

Swimming and recumbent bikes are low impact workouts.

Look up keto. I love it. Also look up bulletproof coffee (coffee, coconut oil, and perhaps butter).

Great job, man. I (6'4") started at 435 and and am down to 265 as of this morning. My favorite low impact exercise was/is a recumbent bike. Remember though, exercising is for fitness, controlling your caloric intake is where weight loss really happens. I still bike a couple of times a week but now that I've lost a bit of…

I absolutely love PB2 as a low calorie peanut butter option.

It requires discipline. After enough time of not eating carbs, I found I didn't crave carbs (been on keto since March 23 and have lost 99 pounds on keto). It takes longer than a week and half of doing the ketogenic diet to fully adapt. More like 3 weeks.

I often find frozen veggies to be fresher than "fresh" produce from the store that ripened on its shipping voyage.

Head to your local running store, for sure. I did and replaced my crap Nikes for a pair of Brooks Adrenaline 14s that drastically improved my gait and fixed some knee pain that I was having.

Those of us that are overweight have the energy to stay alive beyond what we eat in our fat stores.

Is your caloric expenditure from your exercise a MyFitnessPal calculation? I wouldn't put much weight into MFP's exercise estimates. My recommendation would be to get some electrolytes- Sodium, magnesium, and potassium. These help me when I feel fuzzy or faint.
