Yeah I'm currently eating 1950 calories a day and lifting twice a week and I've lost 14lbs in about two months, I think it may be because it's a slow process and I'm quite impatient lol but I'm not gonna give up :)

I'm 5'9, I don't have an answer why but it's the same with me, my waist is about 42/43 inches but I fit in size 38 jeans.
-
This is just my personal opinion but I think it depends really, I'm hoping for the same as you but to lose 40 pounds in 5 months. I'd say the best way would be to count calories and try and fit a couple of workouts in (even if it's just 30 minutes walking per day). I think they say if you lose 1-2lbs a week that is the…

Oh okay. I'll look into timing them instead of doing reps. Thanks guys :)
-
Okay thanks for the help! I will. I'm gonna get use the 9kg for a few weeks until it becomes easy and then I'll move up to a heavier one :) And I'd prefer to do the cardio on the same day, because I have more time on the days I exercise compared to other days so it's easier to just do it all in one workout if that makes…

Some of the comments on this thread are horrible & to the people saying 'people are born with disabilities and you think you have it tough, are you unaware that MENTAL illness is a real thing? Everybody is different. If some of you spoke to me how you has spoke to this usee, I would of left the forum for good. Some people…

I know it's frustrating when you don't see results, but 3 weeks is nothing, I've been calorie counting everyday for 7 weeks now and I only see a small change, but I feel a lot stronger and happier as a person. Just carry on as you are and you'll see results eventually :)
-
Good luck. It's doesn't matter what you weigh right now, at least you're doing something about it! ???? Happy new year!

I'm not sure how to post pictures but I'd like my body to look like this: http://www.maximumpop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Jai_Janoskian_Shirtless.jpg and ah yes! i see the problem now. I'm just gonna blame autocorrect on my phone!
-
Lol No I do want to have muscles but I want to look toned, I don't want to 'ripped' lol.
-
Ok. Looking into strength training now, It's going to be my new years resolution :) Thanks for all the advice and Happy new year!!
-
Oh okay, firstly thanks for all the advice and the link! I think I lost it in quite a short amount of time because I literally did no exercise before, and then suddenly i'd cut down my calories by 500 a day and was working out twice a week for 45 mins each time. I have been doing some training trying to build strength,…

I've thought about starting strength training but I just don't understand it really. I thought you had to have a calorie surplus whilst strength training, but to lose weight you have to have a calorie deficit ( this may be a silly question) but that's what I don't understand. I also don't know where to start when it comes…

I've lost 11lbs in 6 weeks by exercising twice a week for 45 minutes and eating at 500 calorie deficit. I'd aim for 10 pounds and tone up too, 30 day shred would help you tone up!
-
I'm looking to lose the same exactly! My goal is 40 lbs but I've lost 11 already and I'm hoping to lose them by May (going on holiday)! I think it's doable, I think it works out around 1.5-1.75 pounds a week!
-
Okay, I normally am very consistent with calorie counting and weighing my foods etc, But I understand the body will fluctuate depending on factors. Thanks for the help guys!
-
I'm hoping to drop 25-30 pounds by May 2014. Hoping to lose around 1+1/4 pound a week every week until may ( I know it probably won't be as smooth as that) and also to just keep calorie counting and working out.
-
I normally drink 1 - 1.5 litres a day. Although, it is flavored sparkling water because I don't really like tap water.
-
I'm not due to weigh myself until Tuesday.. but the only days i've not worried about calories is christmas&boxing day so i'm hoping to only put a 1/2 pounds on.
-
I weigh myself every Tuesday morning, as this is also a day I go to the gym and seeing if I've lost/stayed the same motivates me to work harder on my workout!
-
I would say I'm pretty happy where I am at the minute. bang on 220 pounds which is good. For 2014, I want to lose another 25 pounds by May, then i'll be at my goal. Hoping I can lose about 1 pound and a quarter every week ( hopefully) until May.
-
Yeah, I managed to push myself through it. I think it's just because I'm being lazy as it's Christmas holidays for me so I don't have to get up early, and with being off I'm trying to make the most of it and workout more frequently so I'm out of my usual routine, luckily I'm one of them people who have to finish something…
-
Oh right, yeah that's what I thought :) thanks for all the responses!
-
Thank you every one! Plus it's not about short term, it's about loosing the weight and having a healthy lifestyle :)

Yes I'm currently using 5kg, I have a 10kg for when I feel ready to move up to a heavier weight, but at the minute I'm more focused on getting in the routine of exercise and healthy eating. I will incorporate snatches into my routine too. My main goal right now is to stay focused on my plan and then increase exercise as I…
