  • I used to not log creamer and other stuff like that and just set my calorie goals about 100 lower. But I found myself "cheating" and having more coffee with creamer then 100 cals. So now I try to log it all
  • Thanks all!! I was determined. Granted I had to estimate calories a lot but even if I just maintained I'll be thrilled
  • First time (10 years ago) I didn't tell. This time I have tried and failed twice. So this third try I'm being very public and people are being very encouraging
  • This happens to me too... a few weeks about 2 lbs lost, and then I'll stay steady a few, and then a few of loss. It's so slow.. but I just keep saying (this time around) that if I stay the course, and stay honest with Cals, it WILL work and I WILL succeed this time.
  • It truly is harder after 40. I did this about 10 years ago (pre kids) and basically lost weight just by counting calories and halfheartedly exercising a few times a week. Lost 43 lbs in 6 months. But 3 kids and many bad habits later, and all of that weight is back. I have been trying for 2 years now, and it just doesn't…
  • Nope- Everything I read is that we tend to over estimate exercise and under estimate calories. Honestly, at 1400 cals, and burning 400-500 a day 5 days a week, I barely loose 1.5 lbs a week. I'm sure if I ate them all back I'd not be loosing at all. I will "allow" myself to eat an extra snack of 100-200 calories on a day I…
  • Nope. Research shows people under report calories and over report exercise. So I figure if I "ate them back" I'd be over.
  • I don't weigh daily... Or even weekly. So let me phrase it this way. The periods in my life when I have stopped eating at dinnertime have been way more successful than those when I save a snack for after dinner.
  • I can't explain the science behind it but if I eat up until I go to bed I don't lose the same amount of weight as if I stop a few hours before bed even at the same calorie and exercise count. I usually pre-plan my food too, however the day doesn't always go as I planned. Often I get caught up in work and end up skipping a…
  • I don't really schedule one, but if I have an event/party, I allow myself room to have fun. For example, two weeks ago my daughter had a B-day party and we made ice cream sundae's... i made a small one too. The next weekend we had a 40th B-day party. I stayed within calorie goals, but had foods I wouldn't normally eat.
  • Mix wet: 6 egg white 3 mashed bananas 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 TBSP honey - Again, depending on your sweetness desire, you could skip this Separately mix dry: 3 scoops protein (I used chocolate, which was a bit strong) 3 TBSP PB 2 (this is a dried Peanut butter with the fat taken out.) 1/4-1/2 craisins - low sugar…
  • Egg whites (That's always the answer right??) Add veggies, or cheese or maybe a small amount of ham. Just started making my own protein bars, since I mostly eat breakfast after the gym on my way to work. If you make them at home, you can adjust how big they are, how much protein, sugar, carbs, etc.
  • Eggs Chicken Coffee creamer
  • I pre-cook chicken (marinaded in something like Italian dressing, or terriyaki sauce, etc) and I freeze the chicken breasts in ziplocks. I have a toaster at work, so I'll toast a 100 cal English muffin, and make a sandwich out of it. Or, I'll cook a bunch of rice for the week, and eat the chicken with some rice. I also…
  • I nursed three kids. (last one weaned about a year ago). Congrats on BFing. It's a unique experiance I think. When did you start losing weight? I woudlnt' even think about it yet.. eat healthy, and eat lots of protien to produce great milk. You need to be SURE your milk supply is very well established before you start to…
  • I'm not now, but I have had three kids. There was recently (in the past five years) a bunch of research done, and it did show that it is safe for overweight women to loose weight while pregnant, or (as others said) to not gain any. THis isn't the best artiocle, but it gives some of the information I read a few years back.…
  • You may just have a higher HR. I know I do. After 6 months of daily 30 minutes of cardio, it is better, and I can now work out somewhat intensely and stay near the top of my range.
  • Issue is, I think, that if you put your own in, as you loose, it doesn't adjust.
  • I would start with figuring out how many calories you are eating now. Then I would SLOWLY decrease that, and watch the changes in Milk. A sudden or drastic reduction in calories or even balance of protein/carb/fat can radicially change your milk production.... not something you want to do, esp with an 8 week old. I'm not…
  • I threw my back out over the weekend, so I didn't work out at all Sunday (a usual skip day for me) Monday or Tuesday... but I was feeling a tad better this morning (chiropractor on Monday) and so I worked out... not as hard as usual, but I did it... and then went for a nice long walk at lunch.
