Definitely add some resistance work in there. You have a good base, but additional strength training is essential to overall health.

For me, a lot of work with a foam roller before/after running helps with the shin splints. Coupled with a lot of just running, no matter how long it was. Just getting into consistent form helps.

For my money, the best you can get is EAS Whey Protein powder (chocolate flavor for me). I think it has 18g of protein, and only 130 calories per serving. Plus, you can get a giant size bag at Sams Club for under $30.

I absolutelty agree with that article. I see people using those machines, and others, and do my best to refrain from schooling them. If I took the time, I'd never get my workout done!
