thankyou~! I wouldn't choose any other way. I plan on mixing it up a bit in the next few weeks and incorporating other dance aerobics just so I dont plateau but otherwise I want to do Zumba as much as I can!

I think they also have Water zumba , which my aunt has taken and she has really bad arthritis in her knees. She said it works fantastic!

I have a fit bit....so i am pretty accurate with my caloric burn. Even with your 10 calories a minute , I work out at Full intensity every time, I work out for 120 minutes + a day...so by your calculations I would be over 1000 calories.

I burn 800 calroies doing zumba and then I add power yoga for another 300 . then again im 6 ft tall and 211 lbs....so i will burn more energy than someone who thinner.

have you tried adding strength sessions to your routine? Sometimes cardio alone doesnt help you lose weight.

I didn't have that with my mom...but i did with my mother in law. When I was actively trying to lose weight she would purposely buy clothing that was three times my size for Christmas or for my birthday.

When I weighed 311 lbs I burned about 450 Calories on Level 1 and Lvl 2 about 500 and that was if i pushed my self....now that i am 190 I burn about 200...I think it mainly depends on your activity level and your weight. It obviosuly takes a lot more energy for someone heavy to move than someone who is smaller.

I would strongly recommended doing Power Yoga if you dont have access to a gym. Yoga Melt down by Jillian Michaels is a great way to start. I wouldn't do Zumba and Jillian in the same day. Ive lost 53 lbs doing Zumba at home! It works, I have 70 lbs to go still! but honestly Ive never felt better. It's a lot of fun! I've never been to a class...so i cant speak for it in that aspect, but the total body system by Zumba is amazing.

I am also transitioning back into being a raw vegan. My diary is open if you would like to add me. My main advice to to just load up on kale, mustard greens and collard greens and eat them raw as much as possible along with other vegetables.
