As for me? I want a door!! LOL I am dreaming of a new side door for my house because the old wooden side door swells when it rains, and sticks. And then when the weather is dry, it shrinks to the point that it even blows open when it is supposedly locked. I am tired of that and it seems to me that a new metal door would…

I am astonished to see that other people actually prepare for these exams. Silly me, I thought preparation was futile so I only prepared by getting a good night's sleep the night before. I never even looked at a practice test. Personally I thought the GRE's were a lot easier than the SAT's. They shouldn't have been! But my…

I am sure you are doing this, but just in case... Be sure to drink all 8 glasses of water every day. It might help , especially in the heat of this summer. Hang in there! That weight has GOT to fall off of you eventually.

Eating healthy foods helps me by greatly reducing my appetite. I can more easily tell when I am hungry and when I am not. Eating a lot of unhealthy foods, for me, means eating a lot more carbs. Carbs cause me to retain water. Therefore eating healthy foods allows me to lose weight faster and more evenly, because I am not…

My BMR is 1930, so I can relate! I told MFP that my lifestyle is the most sedentary possible, because it is, other than when I am at the gym. I have been eating between 1200 - 1600 calories per day. I do exercise (did while gaining, too) but do not eat those calories. This is the end of my first week, felt about right, and…

ChristineDiet, I know it must be tough under the circumstances. Life just isn't fair and sometimes this just gets thrown in our faces. But when the going gets tough, the tough get going (or so they say) so never give up. You have been losing, even though slowly, and when the excess weight is gone, it will be just as much…

No, you aren't nuts. Losing weight is stressful, and tough! It is probably a good thing that you are working through any fears of messing up, in your dreams, IMO.

I tell myself that I will think about it later. Sometimes I drink a big glass of Crystal Light, for just 10 calories. Then I think of something else to do. None of this would help me much if I was eating sugary or processed foods at all, ever.

Lose my appetite? I could wish!

+1 This is what I was thinking, too. Just be persistent and eventually it will just HAVE to come off! :)

At the gym, I put them in a locker with the rest of my stuff and clip the key to the lock onto my tshirt. At home, I have no solution yet. I have been daydreaming about putting one of those keypad locks on my side door, so that all I need to do to open my door after going for a walk is type in a number.

I really like Weight Watchers and lost 95 pounds there a few years back. I never got to goal, so I never got to where the meetings were free. I stopped going, lost my focus, and regained 65 pounds over several years. The reason why I am here, is that it is free. I don't see anything wrong with Weight Watchers. I am new…

Believe me, I have some personal knowledge of your dilemma. :). I am 64 and have hovered around 300# for years, after finding myself at a high well over your current weight. Exercycling works well for me. Swimming is good too, although I haven't done that much because I don't have a swimsuit that fits. The elliptical helps…

What's done is done - - as they say, "no guilt and move on". All I know of to suggest is that once you are done with your exercise and cooled down, be sure and drink some extra water. Then tomorrow, begin new with fresh resolve.

Even when I wasn't trying to lose weight, I cut way back on diet Coke because it keeps me awake at night. I only drink it occasionally even at restaurants, and never bring any home from the grocery store any more. I drink water instead. I just bought some Crystal Light and may start drinking that once in a while.

Oops, I think my post above confused the issue. I'm sorry!! Didn't mean to do that or "hijack" your thread.

Yesterday was my Day 1 too (well, day 1 and a half since I started in the evening, day two officially I suppose). I had 500 calories left over. I wasn't that hungry so I didn't eat them. I can tell that today is going to be a lot tougher though, and I am sure I won't keep undereating like that. I'm not sure what MFP does…

Wow, thanks, everyone! I didn't expect any responses at all and was happily surprised to come back to such great encouragement!
