Look at your diet, and replace calorie dense foods with lower calorie substitutes wherever you can. Little things like low calorie mayonnaise, diet soda, and of course replacing entrees like cheeseburgers with something like fish or chicken will let you be just as "full" as you're accustomed to, while taking in fewer…

This is a really great set of plank moves here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKwNk-FBd0k&list=FLkrDyFw5ukyOGvQd1cZkIag&index=4

I did p90x a few years ago for... maybe six months? It's great for overall conditioning, but it can be fairly intense. Did your doctor clear you for intense physical exercise or something more like brisk walking? They always have three people doing the routines, each at varying levels of intensity, but even the light…

I'd definitely suggest you give it a try-- but I wouldn't bother with Planet Fitness. You can pick up a set of used dumbells very cheap on Craigslist, and start a beginner routine from Scooby's site using nothing but those ( http://scoobysworkshop.com/ ). It'll save you money, you'll get a better weight training workout,…

I can do it. :p

A bunch of military-type marching chants, in Latin... with drums. I think they originally came from a movie or documentary about Rome or something. Yeah, I have no idea how I ended up with it, either, but it's timed perfectly.

My dog is a horrible spotter.

Five. Three are weights days, one is a core day, and one is yoga.

I heard David Attenborough all the way-- with that hushed sort of voice he uses, like he's trying to avoid startling the subject... in the video he's watching in the sound studio.
-
That's awful-- I'm sorry to hear your friend died. It's unreal how big people can get these days. We've got lots of incredibly calorie-dense foods available, for very cheap.

Clearly our educational system is letting some students slip through the cracks.

I watched that this weekend, too-- and man, she really is in crazy good shape. So is what's his name, Ryan Reynolds. They're like some kind of gym rat attack squad in that movie. :P

I believe he was something around 220 and had high blood pressure. He had warnings for years from his doctors, as I expect your dad has. I don't get it either.

There's not a lot you can do, in my experience. I went through the same thing with my dad, and he just didn't care. Died at 50. One thing you can try is, if you control the shopping for the household at all (or can coordinate with the person who does), have them simply stop buying his go-to munch foods, and replace them…

I can see why your aunt has the self-control of a toddler. Sounds like her entire family helps her blame everything but herself for her decisions.

lol, instigator.

Brr! Sure is bro out today!

Exorbitant amounts of protein aren't going to do you any good unless you're doing steroids anyway. A 500 calorie surplus that didn't contain a lot of carbs would almost certainly contain a whole lot of protein that couldn't be synthesized by a natural anyway.

Quoting this because I think you may have hit on the problem.

I'd choose egg beaters over eggs even if they were identical foods. The carton is just a lot more efficient and takes up less room in my fridge.

Secret Eaters blows me away. The amount of self-delusion those people have is amazing. I saw one episode where this couple repeatedly insisted that they just couldn't lose weight no matter how little they ate, and yet, as soon as the camera crews left they went to a pub (where they didn't know they were being watched), and…

Does heroine count as a meal? I assume this last meal is a prelude to an execution, so I'd like to be happy during the ceremonies.

It seems like there are lot of 'truisms' around weightlifting that really aren't truisms for 99% of the population-- the whole 'can't build muscle in a deficit' is one of them. A beginner certainly can put on muscle and lose fat simultaneously. As you progress, however, you'll find it increasingly difficult to do.

I don't know... I can't buy the hype on this game. Something tells me it's more about pushing the XBox One than any honest appraisal of how good the game is... you know?
-
Man... there were so many great games that captured my mind when I was a kid and teenager. Definitely the Zelda games... that gold cartridge, lol. Metroid... later on, X-Com and the first Civilization game. Oh and the first Sim City. The first Final Fantasy...

Hmm. That's a tough one. I don't mean to offend, but it honestly sounds to me like something that would be better addressed by a therapist or an expert in eating disorders. Have you considered talking to one of these?
-
I'm with the people saying just walk and eat in the proper calorie range. If you're not planning to get conditioned for some event, you never need to bother with exercise that leaves you feeling wiped out. Walking is just fine. That and a proper diet will allow you to lose all the weight you want.

I'm actually a duck. I just think human pictures are cute.

For. It's not even a question.

I pick up all my women at Wal-Mart. They're cheaper there.
