Thanks for the support. I want just a bit shocked to see that. I know it's BS, but still, what a downer. Time to kick the scale til it breaks into little pieces.... ahhhhhh, that feels better.

Thanks, that's great info. I'm going to go for the Polar. I think the technology beast in me is actually a guy. In our household, it's reversed. My husband doesn't care much about this stuff, but me, I love the technology. I think I get it from my Dad.

This is bad. OK, so I said that I just didn't want to gain weight this week because of the hubby's B-day celebration this last weekend, and I"m ok with being at the same weight. But, I also took my body fat measurements, and I am UP 2% in body fat from when I began this process! WHAT the ....? I've been exercising almost…

I also get crazy ravenous. Lots of water, and iron suppliments. Although I've been losing this battle more than winning it.

I can commiserate with you. I have the same problem. I get asked that question every year. What's worse is when people put their hands on my stomach and ask me that question. That's because the fat mostly is around my belly. And on top of that, I also cannot have children: after 10 years of trying, of drug treatment, of…

I read somewhere that tofu is really good for memory (that is if you have any memorizing to do for your classes).

I'd be interested in the results of your experiment.

I'm very interested in the Polar F6 but I've read that replacing batteries is a problem. Those of you who use a version of the Polar HRM, how long before you have to replace? Do you have to send them your monitor to have it professionally replaced? Do you get your HRM back, or do you get a different replacement, or do you…

That's what I have: skinny fat. Low weight, high fat percentage, and it's mostly in my belly. That's why one of my hubby's nick name for me is "jelly belly" (he means it affectionately, and I don't mind).

I follow a master yoga teacher that has never steered me wrong. She is dead set against this kind of yoga. It can be dangerious. She's been teaching yoga for 20+ years, and her master teacher, over 50+. She's the kind of teacher who can look at you in your form, and move you 1/2 an inch and allofa sudden you feel what…

I get headaches easily. There are a few things I do to get rid of them. 1) drink water, 2) drink espresso, 3) do Yoga, 4) do cardio exercise, 5) get my husband to give me a head and neck and temple massage. And if those things still don't work, then I go for the drugs.

How about Salsa Dancing? Great music, lots of fun, and burns a lot of calories. Most places have classes before the dance floor opens for the general public if you don't know how. Just an idea.

I've been told, if you want to tone and not build, then increase the reps.

I do about 4-5 meals a day. But Breakfast is always smallest (I simply can't force anymore down my throat even if the first meal is supposed to be big). Dinner is usually largest (love dinner, love to cook and I usually don't go to sleep for at least five hours after dinner). Lunch is usually split into two: an early…

You might also consider changing or intensifying your exercises.

Welcome. It's great site to help you keep track of what you're really putting into your body. The community is full of knowledgeable and helpful people. And the getting started links are great also.

Outstanding! Time to reward yourself, maybe with a new outfit?

4 months huh? Thanks, that does make me feel better. So two years to get to a half marathon. Sounds good to me.

I hear you can now do your banking on iphones now. Everyone who I know has them, loves them. But remember, it's not the cost of the phone, it's the cost of the service, usually about $30.00 added to your regular cell service per month. If you can afford that, then go for it.

My first post to this thread. I'm trying to become a real runner. Right now, I'm doing Couch to 5k, and am about half way through. I can do the two 10-min at 5mph so far. But finding it a bit hard to move beyond this.

Great job everyone! Enjoy your reward.

I've been making quinoa salads for lunch. Bascially once or twice a week, I'd take the veges I got from the farm collective, and chop and roast them in the oven. Add them to cooked quinoa, and some spices including balsamic vinegar (whatever I feel like at that time). Then keep them in a big container in the fridge. I like…

I wasn't so good this weekend. Usually Sunday is my day of rest, because I try to exercise 6 days a week. But I didn't on Saturday, it was my husbands birthday. So I ran around doing stuff for him (and I know that will burn a few calories, but not like if I'm at the gym). Yesterday, I was at my parents, and I helped them…

Here's my advice. In the end, the wedding is about you and your husband to be. It's about your committment, and bringing together the people you love to celebrate your coming together. Then it should be a wonderful experience. The anticipation should also be fantastic. It's not about the dress, or about the cake, or about…

I get my Luna bars by the box at Costco. My favorite: Nutz Over Chocolate. The reason I love them so much is because they taste like rice crispy snacks. Yumm. I don't eat them on a regular basis, but they're great in a pinch: you're hungry, and don't have time to make food. Always keep one in the purse (much better than…

anthrochix: 4% is a lot to lose. That is GREAT! Keep it up. I think healthy depends on your sex. I've been trying for so long and have not been able to get rid of the body fat. So I'm doubling my exercise and weight training efforts. I think essential means that you need that much fat for your organs and systems to run…

I recently read about a new study that showed that eating so much in the morning (loading up your protein and calories) and eating a light dinner is not necessarily a better thing. It's not a bad thing, just perhaps not as beneficial as we thought. For people like me who simply don't feel like eating in the morning and…

I hated my old doctor. Then I asked around (for a long time because I was always so busy). But recently through a recommendation of a doctor friend of mine, I found a great doctor. Not only does he listen to me, he always asks if there is anything else on my mind or that he can do for me. And their office is open 7 days a…
