Knitter here too. Love it. Snacking at night wasn't my downfall, and hopefully keeping my hands busy will help keep it that way. Same username on ravelry. :)

I weigh the same, if not a little less than I used to before I lifted, but I wear a smaller size. So there's that. Muscle takes up less space than fat, so even if you "put on" muscle, you won't gain size. Ok, you might get a more luscious booty.

It's Friday again, yo:

My excuse to flex my pipes half-assed last-minute Rosie the Riveter costume! We can do it!

I've discovered a super-cheap style that is working well for while I'm losing weight, and they sell them at Costco. So it's Nygard skinnies all the way for me right now until I feel like I've settled on a size. Can't go wrong with $12. When I do settle, I'll probably go back to Second Yoga jeans. So, so comfy. I like a lot…

The flip side of this phenomenon totally happened to me - an old roommate bought ginormous plates that must have been on sale somewhere, and we all stuffed ourselves for a few weeks before we realized what was happening.

Gorgeous legs!

I'm 5'8" and 157 - so 11 stone 3 lbs. I wear a 10 mostly - in pants and dresses, but occasionally an 8. 31 waist 34 length jeans.

Does somebody have a Kool-Aid man gif that says "Not all Engineers!" Cuz that would be good right now.

I have a ginormous cup of tea when I get in the door. It's warming, relaxing and gives me something to sip on while I make dinner. Helps me not eat ALL THE THINGS. Or all the cereal...my weakness.

There are a ton of words/phrases that are funny in print/online but not so in person. "pr0n" - can't even really approximate that. But it makes me giggle. "I have no f***s left to give."

I'm about your size and was inadvertently doing a really good job at maintaining as well, until recently. AND I like to save calories for the afternoon/evening. Someone mentioned "reverse tracking" to me - where you start your day at whenever your hungriest point is and then end it in the morning? That way you don't "run…

I lift because when I leave the gym after a session I feel like pounding my chest and yelling like a maniac. It's a rush. And I can fit it into my day. It felt like the law of diminishing returns set it too quickly when I was just running. Run longer, or harder, or...I can just LIFT HEAVIER and make gains in the same…

I want to be able to read the text!

I was gonna say this too.

Awesome. I get tripped up by the little things too, but it definitely gets better. I recently moved from a family-centred YMCA to a bare-bones weight-training focused place. It's definitely more intimidating, but I love it when I do deadlifts because the owner always compliments me for doing deads at all! I just don't see…

Pajamaaaa! That sounds awesome Beeps. Good luck with your deficit/rebalancing, manic! Cowgirl, I hear you on the upper/lower disproportion feeling. I love my arms, but I wish I could get my bottom half to catch up. You guys, I'm feeling SO GOOD this week. I've done my 3xlifting with hill sprints, and 2 mornings of 30+…

This. I lift at lunch, have just started walking first thing 2-3x a day (just started as in today!) before everyone is up, and my house is a mess.

With all bran buds! Weird, but yummy. :)

How do you feel the Venus workouts compare? I'm particularly curious about the way Venus claims to 'work with women's bodies' and really 'customize to your goals.' How different is it?

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, and all the other Canadians here! I think we'll have chicken again, instead of turkey. I for one, am glad.

I don't weigh my food. Have considered picking up a scale many, many times. But I fear getting too obsessive. However, it would be good for baking purposes and recipes from the UK that use weight measurements for ingredients. Today, I lift. That is all.

In the absence of a good scan, and on the 'compare to others' track, this website is kind of helpful: http://www.builtlean.com/2012/09/24/body-fat-percentage-men-women/ I upped my weights for split lunges yesterday and man! DOMs in the old quads and glutes. A nice NSV tho, another woman at the gym (there aren't many of us…

:smooched: Thanks everybody! :blushing: I'm glad I put those pics up. Great lifting everybody! Beeps, that is certainly a long list of allergies. :( Great news, sam, and glad things are looking up!

I actually kind of like protein powder. (Rivalus Promasil in Soft Serve Vanilla) - I mostly mix it with greek yogurt or almond butter, but drink it with water after lifting. Definitely helps me hit my macros and prevents me from eating All the Empty Carbs. I haven't taken comprehensive enough pictures, but I have a picture…

manic, that's totally frustrating. Is there another variation on the big lifts that could help? This article on cardio is pretty awesome, just thought I would post it: http://www.girlsgonestrong.com/do-strong-girls-do-cardio-the-dos-and-donts-of-cardio/

Hey, I'd like to join too! I'm eating at 86% of TDEE and doing Nia Shanks Beautiful Badass. Loving it. How do I join?

YES. Yes. yes.

Congrats, tartsul! How exciting! I won't tell a soul. Saw this article http://www.ctvnews.ca/health/when-is-it-safe-pregnant-woman-sparks-facebook-debate-with-crossfit-photo-1.146473 and wanted to get pregnant again just to look that good. But really, no. I'm done. :drinker: Beeps, you are so smokin. Awesome! Took…

I use Roger's Steel Cut Porridge Oats with Wheat Bran and Flax. I make a batch every couple of days and eat 1/4 batch in the morning, with 1 Tbsp Maranatha Almond Butter and 1 scoop protein powder (Rivalus Promasil in Vanilla Soft Serve). I love this. ETA: Using a rice cooker is a really good idea, Marilyn! ^^^
