I have noticed the nutrition labels on chocolate protein powder and brownie mix are carb/protein opposites. One is sold in the pharmacy area, the other is sold in the grocery area. But the contents in the containers look identical... Hmmm

Summertime: - Three packets of sweetner per half gallon, iced (when I want the coffee taste) - With a scoop of chocolate protein powder (when I want a heatlhier mocha milk shake)

I also run five times a week on c25k. I enjoy it enough to run more than the suggested three times a week. I am currently at the end of w4 after about 2 wks on c25k. Before moving to w4, I ran W3D3 to the cool down and then continued with the first half of the run before doing the cool down. W5 looks like my more than my…

Not an expert. Saw a video on the web which provided the following info. Seems to be working for me so far. Have not had shin splints since starting c25k. I am currently in week 4... - When running, don't stretch your leg out infront of you to lengthen your stride. This causes a heel strike. Keep your front foot under your…

I started 2 wks ago and have picked up the c25k bug drop a few lbs. Anyone feel free to add me...

When I lived where there were street lights, I waited until after dark when it cooled off to an acceptable level on hot days to go running. Some running tracks have enough light after dark to use them....

A while back when I wanted to get into running, I began by running around the block after dark. Didn't want anyone to see me panting. It didn't take long until I was comfortable running in daylight. Recently I have started to run again. I have been using the C25k program (available for smartphones and as a podcast) to get…

My last run of W3D3 yesterday I completed the run up to the warm down segment. Since I felt I could run farther, I restarted the c25k podcast that I use and ran the first half of the run again. It felt good and worked out since I finished close to my car (otherwise I would have walked this distance.) On to week 4!

This would certainly limit your intake rather than buying them for $3 a box. You could "prepay" the calories when making them...

I don't keep these items where I spend most of my time. I my cravings are not enough to get me to go somewhere where I can get them. I also use sweetened drinks that have no more than 10 calories per serving as a way to get a sugar fix. I dilute these drinks to to further reduce the sugar fixation. After I did this for a…

I used to drink a lot of Diet Coke when it was my only drink. Now I have it accasionally and I usually water it down 2-3:1. Still plenty sweet. My taste has changed and I prefer less sweet drinks.

Not an expert, not a real runner but just starting to run again...Take deeper breaths that span several running steps. Try not to allow yourself to get into a short panting type breath. Fill up your full lung cavity with air then expel it. It should take 3-4 steps for the inhale and exhale each. This method allows me to…

The last 0.5 mile is my most difficult. The first 0.5 mile while not difficult, the body is slowly warming up to running temperature. In between is relaxing.

I once rode a bicycle in 95 degree heat over hilly terrain. I had run out of water due to the sweat. I stopped at a small convenince store and bought an energy drink. I had consumed most of the bottle in less than 2 minutes. I looked at the nutrition label and determined I had basically erased 45 minutes biking in 95…

I run 5 times a week and log it. This automatically increases my calories for the day. I have never eaten all my calories any day and am losing weight. You can just not log your exercise and your calorie count will not increase nor vary from day to day due to variations in your exercises. If you keep under the daily…

How much does one save by being fit? Less fast food, more clean food Healthier therefore less Dr visits and medication Capable fo doing other physical activities because you are fit, e.g. mowing

All of c25k has you run/walking for 20/30 minutes. The difference between the weeks is the length of the run segments and the length of the recovery (walk) segments. Find your place by the the length of your current continous run segments: 1 min - 20 min in the first five weeks, 20 - 30 min for the remainder of the…

Looking at week 5, the number of minutes run is about 16 for the first two runs which is the same as week 4. The running segments are slilightly longer than W4. W5D3 has a 20 minute run segment. Keep pressing forward if you feel good about your last run.

Try either W3D1 or W4D1 and see how it feels. Adjust to the correct W?D1 and start over. I was running my own program until I found c25k. I used this method to determine where I fit into this program. Don't worry be

I have been able to reduce my BP back to a normal level using exercise and diet. I started about 9 months ago when I noticed my BP rising after stopping walking/running last year. I restarted walking regularly over an hour on hilly paths. I reduced my consumption of fast food and reduced my sodium intake. I have added more…

Any drink under 10 calories I consider water. More caloric drinks are logged as what they are. Most drinks I consume are in the water category

Before I heard of C25k ealier ths year, I started my own running schedule at the local HS track and on a treadmill. I found it useful to log time and distance infomation into a spread sheet and graph the results. It shows your progress to date in a picture format. You can easily see improvements made. I found it encouraged…

Typically the gym has a social aspect (there is usually people to see and exercise with on your schedule.) Exercising on your own typically is less expensive and typically is performed alone. Sometimes the social aspects keep you going when you hit a plateau or are bored with your training...
