@vikinglander --Great Suggestions, very helpful. @w_j73 If you are choosing healthier snacks, go ahead and enjoy and keep them on hand. Some that i love are close to "calorie-free": celery, radishes, pickles, cups of boullion.....

Thanks for continuing, i didn't do so well during September. My goal for October is to lose 2 or 3 pounds and to drink broth after dinner for a snack instead of having a mocha decaf.....or two.

@sceleste54 YES--total cholesterol went up quite a bit, i am concerned but won't give up butter or bacon. Was thinking of trying olive oil with heavy cream in decaf coffee...would it taste as good as the Irish butter?

we are LIGHTER and that is a huge "win". we are contributing less to over-consumption of the world's resourcses. we probably (if we could meaure it) have to buy gas for our vehicles less often. according to some sources, the brain prefers to burn ketones rather than glucose. Oh Yea!

add me--i've been doing this LcHf for about 9 months and really LUV it!!!

i add heavy cream (and/or butter ) to decaf, coffee or tea---makes it so yummy. If i need a sweetener then some kind of liquid Stevia when at home and if away from home have found these great Stevia packets: http://www.wholeearthsweetener.com/products/nature-sweet/

If you are not going to weigh your food, there is a rule of thumb that isn't perfect but that can help---just assume that you are eating 20% above what you think you are eating. Of course, if you are stalled and you have quite a bit of weight to lose (60+) then the more accurate you are the better off you'll be. Good luck…

@Brigit723 Pumpkin doesn't tempt me however just wanted you to know that someone else shares your "coconut" allergies, ppl in this forum in general eat coconut often--but for me it would mean instant launch of hives, rash, throat closing. Isn't "Anaphylaxis" fun :s :o :s GL finding recipes you can enjoy!

Thanks and true for me anyhow, I just LOVE SEINFELD and can't really watch "Friends" at all---didn't watch the episodes when they first aired so they're a real treat now , really enjoyed the one referring back to that movie "the English patient" so many laughs over Elaine's lines --- yeah, and to bring two of the main…

Stevia Select works nicely in tea or coffee, I order it online from Amazon, no aftertaste.

I'm in favor of taxing foods high in sugar that likely lead to cravings and obesity. This tax can be just a small amount, i'd like the revenue to be used to help pay for increased costs asssociated with obesity related diseases because some people will never "push back" from the table. The amount of overeating many ppl do…

I'd like to order the brownies, would have to take allergy pills because brownies contain almond flour (wish it was Oat) , this could be an occasional treat.

link didn't work---and your homemade version allows what amount per serving of (2) tablespoons?

My "go to" is Mall Walking---it is cool inside those temperature controlled places. Have only been living in S Fla for a short time and both my DH & i find that we can handle the heat much better the longer we are here. Our motto is "Fitness First, excuses later". . good luck in making the adjustment. B) :D ;)

Your delivery will be much easier if you continue your fitness......walk and move as much as possible. If you're talking about beginning new fitness routines, research on the Internet using reliable websites, often a Dr will suggest whatever will "cover him/her" in case a problem pops up. Are you able to check with…

#KRuss70 I know many ppl who use the FitBit but only a couple that own the Apple watch---i was actually thinking of doing what you've done---putting both on my wrist. Very much agree, i work hard to get my Apple Watch to reward me! Your post was quite timely.

Hi Abram I eat everything you mentioned above except for me, no nuts and no coconut. You really just need to decide how many carbs per day work for you and then stay within that range. At first the connection many ppl don't get is how to keep the "HF" part in place. For me adding heavy cream and Kerry Gold Irish butter…

Nothing is ever "TRUE" for everyone but I'm short, older and have many health issues, yes 1200 calories is my number; some older females can do more, eat more etc ......but many just can't.

Greatly lower your carbs and increase your "healthy" fats--watch the portions but get into "fat".

Glad you posted this, during a routine colonoscopy the Dr found calcification in the organs that were near the area being tested for colonoscopy, what was said is that "if Calcification is in one area of the body,it's likely in other areas". After having that checked, yes "do have calcification" but a certain amount is…

You can try "souped up soup" from the Chaos & Pain blog spot: John McCallums’s “Souped-up Soup” Don’t throw out any parings from food prep. Get a plastic bag and save all of the vegetable parings, and when the bag gets full, make the soup. Save all of the bones and scraps from your meat food prep. Store in a plastic bag in…

@CaliforniaAJ I've lost maybe 12-14 pounds since beginning this LcHf and am 5'1", so have heard everything that was said to you - all of it- and the words were not from one relative, all "friends" ---- think that people have to get used to how we look now. My former size was an 8 ( tight but hey, they were size 8) and now…
