Perhaps it's because I'm older, but in my everyday life I encounter friend after friend on statins, on MEDS for acid reflux, additional MEDS to control their blood sugar & high blood pressure and it's all I can do to refrain from trying to explain/convert .........yes and one & all they're overweight. IRL my friends have…

Pickles make an excellent snack, very low calories.

Many people only have success on low carb, also many of us include veggies with every meal. Eating regular rice & pasta no longer work for me---- riced cauliflower is a great food. Each person has to do what is best for their own body. GL @vickimcdonald73

Meant to add, in our home we still have rice, pasta, cookies, ice cream etc, as mentioned above, my brain no longer registers those items as food. Thank Goodness that I don't care about them and I don't miss any of it. Now I'm not so sure they are or ever were edible.

@Gallomere1984 Great Sauces on your blog, the chimichurri sounds especially great --- I've only ever had it at restaurants. @Elephant2Mouse Trader Joe's Parsnip Chips - but add extra salt on them , they can be worked into a Lc day if I plan ahead.

In a different blog that I read, apple cider vinegar is highly recommended.... one tablespoon taken daily mixed into 8 ounces of water. Cinnamon, Tumeric, and a few others are as well.

This blog and this thread so important , it's very difficult not to shout this info from the Rooftops. Thanks for posting!

You're basically right on our "snack of choice" for this woe - my pickles are carb and calorie free , read the labels and enjoy - love the yummy salt!

STARBUCKS is pretty good at accommodating us, I'm able to get Kerry Gold & HWC at my nearby SB.

What I noticed one week ago was the MODS had to request that the "backsliders" stop posting full details about their cheat days - one year ago when I began, ppl were not into writing long and elaborate postings of how they cheated. Really why would someone do this except for one reason, they're really not Low Carb and they…

Fat is in itself an organ that has all the properties of any other body organ, have found an older article that demonstrates (interestingly enough) that more research is needed, do we know much more now..am hoping you can access:…

I take quite a few vitamin gummies and rotate them plus Liquid Geritol , in fact I swear by them- they don't cause any weight gain for me or have any negative impact. Some of the decisions are age related and imho the older a person is, the fewer nutrients absorbed from food. Everything will depend on how healthy you feel…

Oh I love it with HWC, Kerry Gold and dark chocolate Stevia - so over the top delicious! ☕️☕️☕️

Choose a lot of foods that are worth the calories, it's much easier to do this eating spinach, kale, collard greens, red and green peppers , then select lean meats for your protein. I'm never hungry and so it's doable for me. I'm 5'1" and so am short....... Many ppl who aren't tall are given 1200 calories a day. You could…

Congrats on your loss- you deserve all the best - great tips here for many ppl to read, adapt and use!

@andrederosier If you eat a "cheat meal" you may trigger cravings for weeks to come. As a non T2, I've found the fewer high carb foods i consume, the happier I am. If you add in a complete meal you'll likely trigger inflammation, body aches & pains and food obsessions. I'm soon coming up on my ONE year LcHf anniversary and…

:o :D :D :o No further info, how are you doing with carbs @GiveHerWingsSheWillFly ?

I've suffered from vertigo maybe for 4 years and when it's in an active stage, not even walking is possible. It does help for me to be very still and in a dark room. Can you walk on a treadmill but not move your head? If you usually do yoga, I can't imagine those moves while your head is still. Hoping you figure something…

all those similar products contain coconut, so I'm not surprised- thanks for clarification @bowlerae
-
Have to ask, no coconut? I'm very allergic to coconut but drink the BPC with Kerry Gold & HWC.

@cedarsidefarm A post can be edited, there is, however, a time limit to make the changes.

My concern about increasing protein, and for most people, not keeping up fat percentages would be "satiety".....isn't the appropriate fat the reason we (HfLc) easily suppress cravings?

I'm now about 5/7 pounds above goal and to leave those last 5 behind, I'm going to have to really focus. In the meantime, a couple friends have wisely suggested to get rid of all of the larger clothing, it should be donated, sold, given away or even just tossed--- this apparently sends a strong message to the brain that…

OP---you are correct and so is Gary Taubes---fully half of people in the US (and some other places) are obese or overweight, they can not control the intake of sugar/carbs and they are having negative health impacts. Here at MFP, we hear from many who can eat sugar/carbs within CiCo and those ppl refuse to believe that…

Sugar feeds cancer as well as being addictive......cut out the sugar, there is nothing to recommend it. Our bodies don't need sugar.
