Just had fusion in January and a decompression two weeks ago. Walking is all I can really do right now too. Trying to get of the pain meds, stop bingeing on crap and maybe even go to the gentle water fit at the seniors centre...I'm 55 but they let me anyways

Hi Michelle. I had a three level fusion in January and a decompression surgery on two levels two weeks ago. I've gained twenty pounds and lost so much tone. This is not going to be easy. I just logged back in today after a couple of attempts this year. I still have pain from the latest surgery, but I can walk...I just need…

I was hungry so I ate an apple instead of the peanuts my husband was eating.

I also suffer from osteoarthritis and am on a wait list for lumbar fusion. I'm on tramadol, pregabalin and an anti inflammatory. Sometimes even walking is to painful. One thing that does not seem to hurt is snorkeling. With no arm movement. So I get where you are coming from. Add me!

Hey. I'm actually living on a boat too! My biggest problem is lack of exercise, especially cardio when I can't get ashore or the swimming isn't good. And my husband eats tons of junk all the time. I don't mind cooking - we mostly do rice and meat. And sometimes I can't get as much fresh food....

Hey your are amazing! Let's see a big SMILE in the next pic! You should be so proud!

Be kind to yourself - you are a new mom, you've lost a TON of weight and your hubby obviously is seeing the results! Crap - when I was nursing I gained 15 pounds eating cheese croissants during those late-night feedings! You're amazing!

I'm also anemic - just being a woman, over 50 and having ridiculously heavy periods. I find that it 's easier on my stomach and bowels if I take a lower dose 3 times a day, rather than the one big dose and I don't sweat it if I miss it sometimes. Remember that you do not absorb the full pill dose, and the absorption rate…

Definitely understand what you are going through. I know that if I keep fiber up and limit the evil whites - white bread, rice and sugar - it keeps the bowels moving and alleviates some of the pain. Cooked eggs are great because they are a super punch of protein and vitamins, and don't slow things down...at least that's…

Sometimes I just put my gym stuff on and somehow it motivates me to go work out, or go for a walk. I'm ready - so may as well do something....it seems a little silly, but even if it gets you out the door or in front of the tube for video workouts....

What do you do when you are really sore? Sometimes my arthritis just makes me want to curl up in bed with a heavy dose of advil. :(

"But you have a wide hips so you carry it well..."

Braised short ribs with carrots and onions - over a little brown rice and lots of caesar salad with light dressing.....

It does help me sleep - but the dreams are whacko...don't think it has affected my weight loss at all.

Me too please!

Oh yeah!

Face (ugh) for sure - but just noticed that I don't look quite as thick from the side - and I think I see some hip bones under there somewhere...
-
Golf ball or tennis ball for sure - also try to do a kneeling stretch of foot with toes on the floor - as deep as you can go until you can actually feel the stretch thru the sole of your foot. I almost resorted to the overnight foot brace. The toes tend to point at night in natural repose, tightening up the fascia, and…

Burned out on 1200 - came back with 1600 and for the first time feel that I am not really 'dieting'. No starvation, no cravings (well, not as many!) and no sense of depriving myself!

Sounds like we have the same scale - mine changes depending on where you place it on the bathroom floor - have to put it RIGHT there between those lines in the tile - yeah - that's the spot....seriously though, please don't get discouraged by the numbers. Make sure you don't set your goals too low and set yourself up to…

Tried 1200 - crashed and burned and left MFP for a bit. My daughter signed up and got me to do 1600 with her. Losing, energetic, and above all, happy. Works for me.

How about using spaghetti squash for the noodles? Have to try this....

I think I need to call her now...

My oldest was the most challenging - I had to fend her off sometimes when she tried to get physical. I really thought we would never get through it. Then one day I realized that she was so desperately attached to me - single mom - that she needed to fight that hard with herself to detach and grow up. I remember telling her…

Yoga is great for flexiblity and strength - important stuff - But I'm a little deaf and wind up lying there at the end of the class with one eye open, waiting for the groovy stuff to be over so I can go home....sorry:)

Oh no! There's a pizza in my fridge! I can hear it calling me....

Water weight for sure - and excuse this folks - the bowels tend to slow down then too. Then the period comes and 'flush'! Sorry:)
