Is this group active at this time?

I hear you. I lost 97 pounds over the course of two years. Then I lost my 26-year old son and completely lost interest in the whole world. 18 months later I've put 85 pounds back on and am on Day 2 of getting my act back together. I hope we can do this - I now need a knee replacement and must lose 40 pounds to even…

I remember a lot of these things. I lost 97 pounds and then had a major tragedy in my life, took my eye off the ball and gained 80 back. Think I'm ready to start down again and will use this thread for encouragement.

Wow! A new baby and a new body in the same year! Congratulations on a job well done!

Bump for not eating out days for lunch
-
They were 8 and 10 at the time. Gotta have something to choose from, in my opinion.

Eating out - given that I eat lunch out every weekday, dinner out two or three times a week and breakfast at least once, this is going to be a major exercise. Fifteen years ago I gave up swearing for Lent. When my kids got done laughing they bet me I couldn't do it and said if I could, they'd quit fighting me about going…

I have a Wii Fit Plus - to use all the games you do need a Board and nunchucks in addition to the controller. I like the weight tracking feature and the graphing section that lets me record exercise done outside the Wii games. Little Miss Wii gets a little sassy when I slack off for a few days or put on some weight, but it…

A quote I try to keep in the front of my mind - "If you talked to other people the way you talk to yourself, you'd have no friends at all". That internal dialogue will smash every bit of motivation you can must if you let it. A tip I got from someone on here when I first started to try to stop the internal nonsense was…

A neat little trick taught to me just last week by a hilariously funny sales lady at a SOMA shop in San Antonio!

Little tiny town in northwest Wyoming

My favorite tip ever - Just because you tripped on the first step doesn't mean you have to throw yourself down the entire flight of stairs.

How could this not be healthy? Sounds delicious!

This is a great thread! My bad thing is actually a bad thing for my husband - I now expect him to help with the laundry as I am no longer afraid of what will happen when he puts my clothes in the dryer. The dryer appears to have stopped shrinking my clothes!!

I am fortunate to live in a very small town, and we eat out constantly, so I get with the cook and/or the owner and get a list of ingredients and amounts for the dishes I like so I can calculate the nutritional info. I find that if you talk to them during "off" hours when they aren't crazy busy, most of them are more than…

Caution! Wearing a Fitbit can make you have to face reality regarding your activity level - or lack thereof - LOL! I got one for Mother's Day, wore it for two months religiously, lost it and was amazed at how addicted I was to watching the steps add up! Fitbit kindly replaced it at no charge and now I'm back in the saddle…

Absolutely get this! I started in a 22W a little over a year ago and am now in 8/10's depending on the store. I still look in my closet and get aggravated at those "little tiny clothes" hanging in there - who could possibly wear those and why are they there taking up space?!?! Oh, wait - they're mine and they FIT!…
-
Or "accidentally" leave that sticky size tag on the leg  I just discovered I am down to 8's (from a 22W a year ago..) and I get where you are! Great job!

Went clothes shopping yesterday - all purchased pants were size 8! Think I was about 14 the last time that happened!

If alcoholism is a disease, I suppose a case could be made for obesity being a disease. On the other hand, I think I agree with the 47%.

Seafood Alfredo (Shrimp, Crab and Scallops) with mozzarella cheese garlic bread from our local supper club! And a glass of good white wine. Good thing scale day is tomorrow - this thread has given me WAY too many bad ideas
-
NSV #1 - Scale FINALLY started moving - down 2# today! NSV #2 - Smallest jeans needed a belt! NSV #3 - The belt I bought a couple of months ago and hadn't worn yet was TOO BIG to keep the pants up! Yay!
-
Yay! That is a great feeling! Keep up the good work.
-
Excellent work! This exact thing was something I didn't even realize was happening until it wasn't anymore!

How often do you have the protein shakes? I had never had food allergies or intolerances prior to last summer, but have now developed a definite sensitivity (expressed as itchy skin rashes) to strawberries, grapes and large amounts of raspberries. Makes me quite cranky to have to eliminate those particular foods....

Know where you're coming from - "de-nile" is NOT just a river in Egypt and I think my real name is Cleopatra!!
-
You know, it does! Funny - that never occurred to me yesterday when I was heading up a really long hill and wondering why the bike wasn't struggling so hard this year! Another NSV for sure.

I've been doing WW and MFP since June, 2012 and have lost almost 80 pounds. I am a WW Online member because it's 35 miles to the closest WW meeting site and I know I'm not going to do that every week. It's been an interesting ride, comparing points versus calories each day - some days over on points and under on calories…

Great job! This was one of my best NSV's so far last week when the Health Fair blood tests came back with no "red" results!
