  • I was thinking the same thing. Checked out your photos, what an amazing transformation, which you can credit to hard work!
  • As everyone else has suggested, go see your dr. Be sure to tell him/her everything. If the dr. says your A OK to run again then I would suggest slowing down. You may have just tried to go too far too fast. The thing about being able to talk comfortably is a good gage for that.
  • I think that dr's don't know everything. If you want to get the real lowdown on running issues go see a runner. Many city's have running stores, I'm not talking foot locker, but stores specifically for runners. Mine here where I live is Fleet Feet. All the employess are runner and some are running trainers. They may have a…
  • So as you have already been told and know, just plan a little more for the days you burn lots of calories. As for today, if it was me in the same boat.... Sonic, small carmel sunday with nuts (550 cal!) I'd treat myself today but plan better for tomorrow!
  • I've been eating the lower fat variety of many things for years (like milk, sour cream and cheese) i do enjoy and prefer a few full fat items. I have tried and just don't like fat free flavored creamer. I also prefer full fat salad dressings like blue cheese and ranch, i'm just careful about using the correct serving…
  • Me too. I'm working on training for my 1st 5K now, starting running this past may.
  • I go to the gym. I was worried about the money at first, but since i've made friends there, I go 5 days a week, sometimes 6. It helps when someone says "see you here tomorrow". I looked at a few gyms before siging up. I ended up going to the YMCA. The prices is fair and there is no contract. Other gyms I looked at you had…
  • While I don't mind making major changes to my life in order to reach my goal, I have decided that there are 2 things I just won't give up. Flavored creamer is one of them. I only drink one small cup of coffee per day, during the winter when it's cold I'll drink tea the rest of the day. I've tried the fat free and sugar…
  • I don't have an answer but have been wondering the same thing. I eat about 1600 cal (before exercise) but don't always net 1200 cal at the end of the day (I average between 400 and 600 cal burns at the gym min 5 days a week). I'm still losing weight but wonder if this is gonna make me stall soon. Which # should i be aiming…
  • when i started the c25k program i was apx 235 lbs. some weeks were harder than others, so i repeated them. the best 2 pieces of advice i can offer are: 1) see your dr 1st, to check your blood pressure, heart rate and other things that could affect the speed at which you attempt the program. 2) go slow, i tried to jog to…
  • I have 2 cats, a Calico named Cali aka Pretty Girl, Cal, and The Multicolored One. The other cat is a male orange tabby named Auggie. Which is often turned into Augs, The Orange One, Furris which is shortened from my fav of his nick names...Furris Agustus (I was watching and reading a lot of period pieces from Roman times)
  • I have found that logging what you eat before you eat it can help. It allows me to really see what I'm about to do. If I don't like the cal or fat or protein # it's easier to adjust before I've eaten then trying to make up for it later. Then I adjust portions or sub veggies or fruit for something to get the meal in the…
  • If i'm gonna go to the gym in the morning I don't eat. I find that it makes me sick to my stomach. I've never been one for breakfast either. I have a cup of coffee and then head to the gym. If I know i'm gonna run or feel like if I don't have something I won't make it through the workout then I might have 1/2 a muscle milk…
  • You got many great suggestions to work with but it never hurts to ask the waitstaff if they have a copy of the nutrictional info for their menu. Many states require that one be made available and some states require the info on the menu's. I'm with a lot of the other folks personally, I don't eat out often so I let myself…
  • I'm not skinny (yet) but I feel great at my gym. People are supportive. I was worried in the beginning, because I didn't want to be judged. But as I got to talking to many of the folks there, many had been me 6 month, 2 years or when ever ago. I actually find inspiration from seeing overweigh folks at my gym. I see them…
  • This is how i cut my soda addiction down to nothing. I didn't tell myself I couldn't have it but rather that I could only have it at special ocassion or when dining out (which I rarely do). As for drinking more H2O. I use the crystal light or other brand mix ins. I bought a reuseable, dishwasher safe water bottle. My goal…
  • being able to cross my legs and sit like a woman, comfortably is my short term non scale goal!
  • any kind of spa type treatment. depending on budget of course! i get pedi's often enough to not consider it a reward. I would go the way of a facial, full body massage or full body exfoliation. I've also considered things like fancy shoes or a new purse.
  • greek yogerts on average have twice a much protein per serving as 'regular' yogerts. to me the plain is kinda gross, but on the other hand many of the fruit flavors are high in suger because of the flavorings that are added. A good way to make plain better is to add a teaspoon of honey and some fresh/fresh frozen fruit to…
  • If you don't eat enough calories on a consistant basis your body will go into a kind of starvation/hibernation mode. It will do everything it can to conserve what it's being given. Your body will save as much of the little it's given because it won't be sure when it will be provided with more fuel.
  • saw a great suggestion online the other day. Haven't tried it yet, but if you're looking to watch the calories or don't want to use milk they suggested using tea. Brew flavored teas, any flavor, and use it instead of just plain water. You could apply the coffee ice cube trick to tea also.
