  • Glad you had a great weekend away! As always, thanks for your inspiration!:drinker:
  • Zaza, the challenges are easier once you get hooked on this site! Good luck.
  • Welcome to the group, James. I totally understand where you are coming from...we ate rice with every meal, every day...white rice. I still love it but do manage to control my portion to one cup. We all love carbs! It is a challenge every day to limit them! Good Luck!
  • Can't wait to do this week's challenges!
  • I was able to get 4 workouts in this week. I did some of the challenges but not on the correct day. Guess that doesn't really matter as long as we are moving. Was a little under the weather today so am taking a break (until tomorrow).
  • Thanks Sunshi1ne for the info. I will let my friend know about the church group being a way to go. Sounds like you are doing some good in the world.:flowerforyou: fooja, there was a peanut butter diet in my Prevention magazine awhile back. You can eat peanut butter but you must eat it in moderation (sadly, like everthing…
  • Welcome Holly! Yes, we all have slip ups...couldn't resist M and M's this afternoon. I will work out harder tomorrow! I don't feel bad any more about having an occasional sweet. This site is helping me learn moderation!!
  • Sunshin1ne, be careful your calorie count doesn't get too low. Your body will think you are starving and your metabolism will slooooww down! A gal from work said her daughter wants to go to Honduras with a church group. Are you from Honduras?
  • Welcome Tammie. My sweatpants are the velour with a wide waistband that are supposed to "hug" your hips. I got a smaller size for Christmas but they aren't quite "comfy" yet.:smooched: Every little bit helps! And yes, we all love food. We just need to learn how to manage it. You found a great site to start your weight loss…
  • You'll be in our thoughts, Sunshin1ne! My sweatpants were falling off me today!!!! Can't remember the last time any of my clothes were too big.   Have a great day, everyone!
  • I just go by the Curves Smart count. You have to remember that the workout is on individual results. I average in the 300's whereas my buddy usually will be in the 500-600 burn rate. Workout at your own rate!
  • Yolanda, we all can relate to your habits! I was always overweight as a child by at least 1-15 lbs. We got to eat whatever we wanted and had nightly treats of candy, ice cream and cookies! It is hard to break those habits. Try eating nuts (limited to 20 almonds) or protein (mozzerella sticks) when you are hungry. My goal…
  • Four days of workouts this week and a 3 lb. loss! My challenge is to do it all again this week. How is everyone doing with their exercise programs? :drinker:
  • I've been curious too. I saw the bars at Costco last week. Anyone have any feedback? Thanks!
  • Go to Exercise and type in Curves. The program will be listed. I am doing Curves Smart so I get a reading at the end of my workout. I just add the calories. I tend to average around 340-360 for my workouts. It is different for everyone...my workout buddy always burns 500 or more calories.
  • Just popping in to say I am still trying to keep my healthy goals going. I haven't had much time to post but I sure do enjoy all you ladies. Your support is so motivating! Happy Wednesday, tomorrow.
  • Do we weigh in every Tuesday or just the last Tuesday of the 4 weeks? If so, here it is... SW-189.9 CW-188 NW-184 (Feb. date) Goal: 155 It is slowly coming off...I need to get past the 185 plateau to move that ticker!!!
  • I am trying to get this thread tagged so I can find it again. Hope this works. Susan, thanks for all you do.
  • I just spent the past four days feeding three of my son's college friends. The boys had never been to No. Cal. before this trip. We fed them well....too well as my weight is up 3 lbs. I am not upset as I truly enjoyed having the boys here. They were such nice kids. I will be back on track tomorrow. Hope everyone…
  • I am back! My son had three college friends visit this week. They showed up a day earlier and stayed a day later than planned. I fed them well and sent them back to Southern Cal with full tummies. I had a 3 lb. gain but I am not going to worry about it. The time with my son and his friends was worth every bite! It…
  • Hi Everyone...just checking in. I am back at work this week after a two week break. My weight is teetering and I am one lb. closer to getting my ticker to move. It is so hard to stay on track but once I log on and read your posts I get motivated to do better. Hope everyone is having a great day. Don't forget to drink your…
  • Thanks so much, Susan! You're awesome.
  • My goals for January are to lose 5 lbs., maintain a regular, yes, regular exercise program, keep my calorie journal and read MFP daily. I have been home and able to meet these goals...my true test is when I begin working next week and apply this to my work week. I can do it if I log on with all you wonderful and supportive…
  • okay...I need to learn how to use the quotes. Half way through the above quote ismy response. I'm learning!
  •  Happy New Year, ladies! We rang in the new year at home. My husband and I had dinner. I didn't go over in portions but did go over on calories. I made pumpkin pies for tomorrow (which is now later today). Well...we had a piece of pie tonight. I am going to try to exercise at least 45 minutes (later on). I…
  • Happy New Year or as another fitness pal wrote "Healthy New Year"! I am so motivated to achieve my goal this year. I have been reading the posts and am so inspired by all your stories. Have a wonderful day! My goal is to lose 30 lbs. so 2010 is my year...20 plus 10 = 30. Yahoo!
  • Great photo! I will need my son to show me how to post one too.:blushing: They get so impatient because they have shown me how to do it and I can't remember...what's a mom to do! Just finished working out to the Your Shape Wii game. It gives me a great workout. I do find it difficult at times but I am sticking with it!…
  • Great advice for all of us. You are an inspiration, zorahope. Now I remember you saying you are a music teacher. Both my boys are jazz/music students (college and high school). We definitely support the ARTS!
  • Vicki-:flowerforyou: I got the You Shape for Christmas. So far I love it!!! My weight was up before Christmas. I started working out on Sat. and my weight is now down 2.5 lbs. I am still 2 lbs. over my lowest MFP weight but I am happy. I started to slowly gain after Thanksgiving and was so disappointed with myself when the…
