Does anyone here feel the fitbit overestimates calories burned?
-
Thanks for the links, farback. Brother is not retired yet, so that may be a lofty goal for him. I told him if he starts now, he couldd finish mine before Christmas?! :D It's fun to look at the plans and the different styles. Works of art!

Just beautiful. Can't wait to show pic to my brother.

I'm speechless! That's amazing. It really is beautiful. It looks really long. How does it track? Great, I'm guessing. How long to build and did you go by a plan or pattern? (When I show this pic to my brother he may get the bug to build one!)

I'm super impressed. Farback is quite the master craftsman. Kudos, Sir!

Congrats! When I reached Onederland I cried tears of joy! Good for you!

Yayyyy! Congrats! And yes, rest assured your Mom is VERY proud! :)

Don't fear the metabolism - I started at 59 & lost 95 lbs. Took a year a half, but it IS possible. Listen to the above MFP -ers. They have some good advice. Come on - you can do this.
-
Yes! I felt that way from age 9 to 59. Then I had my "aha" moment and said "enough." It took me 1 & 1/2 years to lose 95 lbs, but I did it. I've kept most of it off for an addition 2 1/2 years. I'm still trying to lose some "winter accumulation" :D but I know I'll always have to log, weigh and measure all my food as best I…

I'm all over the place. Foo fighters (Learn to Fly & Walk), Elvis Costello (Pump It Up), Black Eyed Peas (Pump It), B52's (Love Shack) U2 (Vertigo), ACDC (You Shook Me) etc., etc., etc...

What a beautiful looking kayak?! I have a cheap little plastic recreational kayak. Where did you find it?
-
Lol!!!! Looking good, farback! !!

I recently had a team audit with five other coworkers from other areas of the state. I used to be the largest person at these audits (even the men!). I was the smallest person at the recent audit and it felt amazing.

I've gotten some great clothes cheap at thrift stores. Some of them even have a "designer boutique." Check them out!
-
LOL!!! Stuart Smalley! Made me laugh! You'll figure this out - look where you've come from! I'm at the same place..fall/winter vacations and the holidays took their toll. Tighten up with the logging... Stay away from those evil little M & M's :D (I love em, too!) It'll happen before you know it!

Pace yourself. Start out slow, then add 5 extra minutes each week. This has to be something you're going to want to do forever. Try 3 or 4 days in the gym, then the other days something you find more enjoyable? Are there any sports you like to do? Skating, skiing, walking outside...you don't have to do all your physical…

Welcome! Logging, weighing and measuring foods was the key to my success. You're off to a good start. Make changes you can live with for the rest of your life.

That's the way to be strong, persistent and successful! Amazing work!

What a wise young man you've got there! Congrats!

I'm a member of Amazon Prime & I can download some great tunes on my phone for free. I don't know much about beats per minute, I know I have various tempos loaded, I just play what i'm in the mood for at the moment. Some faves: Love Shack (B52's), Learn to Fly (Foo Fighters) Vertigo (U2), Pump It Up (Elvis Costello) and…

Good job! You look amazing!

Sweet! Hang in there....you can do it!

Friend me! I have a kayak and it's awesome. I'm going to Caladesi island tomorrow. (FL) I'm on mine almost every weekend.
-
Well, the price tag just killed it for me.... (sad face...)

I can totally relate to the way luluinca feels. It's one reason I tend to stay away from the more "mature" age groups om MFP for this very reason. Let's face it, once you get to a certain age, we ALL have issues aches, pains, surgeries, conditions, etc. Suck it up, give it your best and keep moving!!!! Luluinca, I think…

I eat French toast almost every day (under 300 calories) or scrambled eggs with mushrooms/veggies in a 50 calorie wrap. Occasionally oatmeal (but I love oatmeal! ).

d_thomas02, your Mom seems very strong (handing the keys over). The time I care for my parents was the most stressful, difficult and unbearable time of my life. My Mom made me promise to never put her in a nursing home, but when I could no longer physically lift her out of bed by myself, I had no choice. She passed away 7…

Lost 95 lbs in a year and a half. Started at age 59. Weighing and measuring EVERYTHING that goes in your mouth is extremely important. I didn't do that over the holidays so now I'm working on getting the "winter accumulation" off! I will be logging the rest of my life. And, it really is all about calories in /calories out.…

Well, I started at 59 to get back to healthy. Omitted no food groups, tracked calories in & out & in a year and a half lost 95 lbs. I don't believe in eliminating any particular food group and it worked for me. Weigh & measure EVERYTHING that goes in your mouth.
