Wow, how timely. What kind of feedback / motivation can keep me going until I get past those first several weeks and start to see changes? Seeing change motivates me....but when visible changes don't happen right away, it's discouraging. I need some short-term motivators to get me up the curve.

I'm with you on that one. The fact of "thin-bashing" means something has gone very wrong b/c bashing is what we're trying to get away from. I've also read a number of obituaries of people who were fat activists and many of them did in fact die from weight-related illnesses.

And I could use encouragement on exercise too...I try to get in at least 30 min 5-6 days a week.

Count me in...I'm 48 and 15 of the 60 pounds I lost over the last several years has crept back. I know I can do this...every year it gets harder...but I need to do this now while my hormones still cooperate most of the time.

Don't over do it!!! As someone else said, you'll just set yourself back with an injury and you absolutely don't want to be sidelined. I LOVED when my boobs got smaller because of weight loss. I went from a 42C to a 38B. I absolutely LOVED not *having* to wear a bra all the time and to be totally comfortable braless.
