I've had chronic depression and severe anxiety with panic attacks that sprouted it's ugly head when I was a teen (I'm in my 40's now). I haven't found any websites, books, etc that have made a difference. What has turned me around and kept me facing the right direction is staying on my prescribed medication, and spending…

Oh yes, I can relate to that feeling! The best part of that story, is you never even considered giving up. It only motivated you to work harder. That is the real reason to hold your head a little higher these days!

Honey, as a mother, I implore you to seek help. The suggestion of contacting your university counselor is excellent. Please do that when you return to school. As a health care provider, I would say you are at the least, clinically depressed. You need to address this with your primary care provider and follow up with your…

Wow! You have certainly been working hard! Great job!

Hmmm.. Sounds like either way I am burning energy, ie calories.. So, I guess I will just keep pedalling along ... =) thanks everyone! -cheryl

So is it better for me to ride for a shorter time at a higher watt? Or a longer time, but at a lower watt?

well said!

you are not getting sufficient nutrients on 800 cals a day.. it is working now, but you are pulling from your reserves to maintain your health right now.. If you keep this up, you will have kidney and heart issues as well as bone loss. Your immune system is weakened, and you will have less reserves to fight infection. It's…

You are far too hard on yourself. Women have real bodies. You maybe subconsiously comparing your self to the artificial images seen in magazines, and what-not. You have to be ok with 'who' you are. Just being a thinner version of yourself does not automatically make you happy. Look how far you have come. I can total relate…

It could be "what" you are eating.. If you have alot of processed foods or empty calories, you aren't getting the energy you need. Fast foods, donuts, and soda are all energy drainers...

Awesome! You look fabulous!

Most gyms have a high quality scale there.. use that one... But remember, you have been working out, and your clothes are fitting better so it coud be you have firmed up! Don't get discouraged.. It sounds like you are kickin' butt! Just relax, re-group and move on.. OK?

Well put.. It is a chance to re-invent ourselves... I hope to use the opportunity wisely! =)

You're an inspiration to me Tesia.. I have been thinking about trying this all month.. But I am going to shoot for a no-sugar Saturday, if all goes well, I'll push it into Sunday as well... But, like you, I think I to have a no sugar EVERYDAY.. I do well with my fats, calories (most days), sodium, and exercise most days.…

probably just your body shunting the blood to the surface for cooling, but if it doesn't go away within a few minutes, then you warrant a trip to the ER...

Are they really numb or just tingling? If just tingling, most likely circulation changes adjusting to body heat. If they are numb you would not be able to stand on them.

I feel ya Jane.. Quiting sugar for me is like quiting an addictive substance like nicotine, or alcohol, or whatever .. All month I have been having this internal argument with myself over not chosing sugar. And every day I have lost that battle ( cola, or donuts, or chocolate candy).. Some people say, just go cold turkey.…

Think it boils down to calories in versus calories out. Eat less, move more... Nothing else has ever worked for me, yet I am finding success here!

When I first got my stationary bike, I was like you said. Bored, bored, bored.. Could barely make it a half hour, and that was pure mentaI torture! Now I use my Ipod, put on music that is very high energy (not sure your music taste, but I have used everything from Green Day, to The Offspring, to OK GO), and can go for an…

Where are you retaining? are you swollen in your legs or anything like that? That's a trip to the doc if so...

Must be something about you moving, but your surroundings staying in place.. Kind of like in reverse of car sickness, where your surrounding are moving, but you are just sitting there.. I know for car sickness the answer is to only look in front of you.. Never to the side or down. Whatever it is, though, it sounds pretty…

Right there with you on this.. Not sure what causes it, but you are not alone.. I just posted a question today about will power (or lack there of, in my case).. there were some good suggestions posted on how to avoid caving in. Maybe you'll find an answer there that will work for you.. Good luck!

I suffer from agonizing headaches as well, and also, like a previous poster was diagnosed with TMJ.. I clench my teeth when I am frustrated, stressed, etc. Now that I am aware that I do that, I try to pay attention and stop clenching when I notice I am doing it. That has cut the number of my headaches down considerably.…

I tried bringing my Kashi bars, but a couple of times I ended up eating the Kashi AND having the treat! Yikes!

Thanks for the ideas! I will try them out, see what works best for me.. I really appreciate the input!

I also set my ticker to a lower number a couple days ago. I have been so pleased with my progress, that I think maybe I can do this! This is the first 'program' that has ever worked for me, so I think I am going to go-for-it! Good luck to you!

Yikes, sounds like you got a nasty stomach bug, maybe bad food related. The only thing you can really do is rest your belly.. Then start back slow, with gatorade if you have it in the house. It used to be you get a tablespoon or 2 of the syrup they make Cola with, and that would help. But I don't ever see that anymore.…

Welcome... I've been here just under a month and I have found the food counter as well as exercise counters to be very accurate. The plan it sets up for you according to your goals has been spot on! And of course the support has probably been the largest part of my success. There are some great people on here! Good luck to…
