  • I've frustrated myself with this one... I am thinking that for steady progress, the answer is no. I had been eating them back in the past, and have had minimal luck, maximum frustration... I just restarted back, and am thinking I will no longer eat my exercise calories.
  • How ironic.. I am "back" again as well.. AND we seem to be in exactly the same place. =) I lost my motivation, and gained back my weight loss =( bu,t I am back at it again, hoping I have learned something new from my last try, and will do better this time! Good luck to you! (and me too!) ~Cheryl
  • Right there with ya sister.. I'm lookin for my lost motivation as well... (sigh) Not really sure where to find it.. I've been stressin at work, eating badly and not exercising for a couple weeks now.. really really need my positive energy back.. I think I may try to mix it up a bit and try something different for a while,…
  • Pretty much the same darn think going on with me (only it sounds like you might be a bit more diligent with the cal intake, but I get exercise (cardio) nearly everyday.. I added calories and lost a few more pounds, but then they came back on and I am hovering right where I was over a month ago.. but, I do FEEL better, and…
  • I dunno guys, I've been at this for 4 months, and I still find myself having to think about it. Although, it has become somewhat easier.
  • I've had a couple pairs over the last 18 monthes.. They are actually very comfortable and provide a nice cushion for the bottom of my feet. (I work 12 hour days on my feet).. But as far as actually toning anything, I would say they are a total bust.. That may just be sensationaizedl media about the injury though. Anyone…
  • Sounds as though you definately have something going on. ANYTHING that causes you to become short of breath with activity absolutely needs medical attention. And of course you would never do this but, in the meantime, do not try to self treat yourself by purchasing the over the counter inhalers. And don't 'borrow' your…
  • Wow... That is the best post I have ever seen on this board. You are honest with yourself, no mind games, no excuses, no tricks ... only hard work, dedication, education, and a true love for yourself. Who you have become is exceptionally admirable.
  • Are you sure it isn't all the added fiber ? I use probiotics, it seems to have helped me alot! If you do decide to go that route, make sure whatever brand you get, guarantees live cultures.. =)
  • Well my dear, I think you are being FAR to hard on yourself! I read your post and what I saw was how much you have accomplished! This is a lifestyle change, not a "diet". You sound like you have definitely make some impressive gains in a positive direction, AND you also seem to know where you have veered off the path. No…
  • Ok, it was a bad day... that's all. Cleanses are a waste of money, and can even be dangerous. Tomorrow is another day! Don't stress it. Really. In the scheme of things one bad day is nothing. =)
  • Makes a ton of sense.. the purer the food, the better... Hmmm... think this deserves some lookin' into! thanks!
  • There are all kinds of crap ads up here, but by tolerating that garbage, we get to use MFP for FREE! Totally worth it in my book! Think of them as spam and ignore them!
  • I was asking myself this same question the other night. I'm seeing it too between a couple of my peeps.. Not sure what the dynamics are though? Maybe just feels like a safe place? I suppose like any internet site, caution should be advised.
  • Every liter of fluid infused in the body is equal to one kilogram of weight gain (2.2 lbs) .. if you have normal kidney function you will process this and pee it out today... no worrys...
  • Only think I would add the the drop in BP and blood sugar comments would be dehydration... Check your fluid intake, has it caught up with your increased activity?
  • Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! I've been *hinting* for my boyfirend to join me as well up here. I HAVE to show him your teamwork effort! You guys look sooooo happy in your picture .... =) Good luck to you both!
  • You sound as though you have finally found a physician who understands you, and your disease. That is a HUGE obstacle to overcome, as you well know. But it is such an important step. You are moving forward, you are thinking positive, and you are being realistic (which is really, really difficult with bipolar disorder).…
  • Depends on what they are researching. The idea of the research is to control the enviroment as much as possible, to therefore reduce the risk of contamination by outside influences. Good Luck.
  • OMG woman, are you crazy?! =) That dvd has been kickin' my *kitten* for the last 2 weeks! wow, good for you! that is awesome that you are considering that! I can only aspire to that at this point! =) It has been fun actually, and kind of addicting too! Good luck!
  • So I am going to use brand names here, which I would usually never do, but I have found this particular combo to be very effective, while other brands just didn't work as well. Try Fiber Choice chewable tabs (you can get the economy size at Costco), they are chewable fruity flavored and taste like the candy "smarties". And…
  • Nicely put.. Here is an example of the kind of damage this kind of advice can do. We had a patient in the ICU, she is of the age group that generally does not ever question Dr's. (60yo and older) She stopped taking her medication for her pulmonary disease. When her pulmonologist came to see her in the unit, he asked why…
  • That is alot of fluid loss. I think you should consult your gyno. It may be a warning sign from your body that something is wrong.. sorry... better to be safe though.. best wishes.....
  • For me it is really all about self-discipline.. I'm slowly but steadily re-training myself. Walk right by the soda section, walk right by the pastry section, (don't even LOOK in their direction).. Head for the fresh food section and stay there. No wandering. Set up an appointment on you calander for your workouts, just…
  • Sounds like you got your game-face on! 1-2-3 LET'S GO! ...... Great attitude! You ARE going to succeed!
  • Oh Boy! This is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix, ok? Give it time.. This really does work, you can see from all the success stories posted in the forums. It will not happen quickly, so just eliminate that thought from your head right now. The goal here is to be healthy. It sounds like you are making good choices. Just…
  • I think it will give you extra support when you are doing things like jumping jacks ,which will make exercising more comfortable, and therefore maybe make you more likely to keep it up. But I don't think if will actually speed the weight loss in that particular section just by having it on....
  • thanks for all the ideas guys! I'm thinking a trip to Target for some plain glass cup sized bowls, 9' plates and 8 oz glasses... ought to do the trick!
  • Totally cute Idea, however I do not have an artistic bone in my entire body! I like the idea of using salad/dessert plates though!
  • OMG ! Google is freakin' scary... wow!
