I'm the same, I always forget the warms ups I do in class. I can remember some of the stretches though so I usually do ten minutes of stretching before getting on the pole.

I've tried looking but I never got very far as I always want to get back to writing, I might look into that one once I've finished my first draft though, thanks for the tip! :)

Yay congrats to you for that, it's great when you have success like that as itencourages you in the other thigns you have trouble with! I haven't had a success story this week as my class is tonight, but even then I doubt I'll have a success story! If I do, I'll definitely post it here! :)

I'm off to Crete for a week on 7th September. Can't wait! I've been there countless times, but it's the best way for me to chill out! Hoping to lose a bit more weight before I go too! :)

Muse for me! Used to absolutely love them, but ever since they cracked America they have become so up themselves it's sickening to watch! Always hated GnR and anything too sugary pop... Especially Justin Bieber, he needs to FOAD

lol, that's a very sheltered life you lead indeed... I know A LOT of girl gamers and they are hawt!!!

I do alot of upside down moves on my pole... but to be honest all I get is a head rush when I'm upside down for too long... that and muscley legs from gripping the pole!

Erm, I've never been able to do the splits... I've decided to start work on that though as I'm fed up of being the only one in my class who can't! :/ How long have you been doing pole? I don't think it's a matter of strength, it's a matter of knowing whether you want to keep going with it as a hobby

I have been asked many a time if I would ever take part in pole competitions and shows... I know quite a few girls that do and look amazing, but as you know, from my previous thread, I have zero confidence in myself and don't think I'm good enough to practise infront of girls who are better and faster learners than me, let…

I go through stages of CDs that I listen to while practising pole... the three main ones are: Bon Jovi's greatest hits! Flashdance the soundtrack and the most recent one is the soundtrack to Baz Lurhman's Romeo and Juliet, the first song on the album #1 Crush by Garbage is the perfect song to start with I think! :) But…

Thank you for your supportive post, that does make me feel a lot better! I haven't bene back to pole classes since my last "bad" session, but that's because I ahven't been well. My next class is tomorrow, and I know it sounds silly but I am kind of dreading it as I don't want to get disappointed with myself again! I will…

I've been obsessed with pole dancing since I started nearly two years ago! I go to classes once a week and also practise at weekends on my own at home. It is a fantastic workout and my arms and legs have never been in such good shape (still got a lot of work to do on my stomach lol) I also find it is a confidence builder…

I originally took up pole in order to get in shape and tone up, but I've got so much more 2 years down the line! It does work on every muscle in your body, and it's also a great confidence booster, I've found! My flexibility hasn't really improved much, but then I think that's more to do with the warm ups before getting on…

My favourite has to be Meagan Marie She's just so versatile and looks amazing whatever character she portrays and the costumes are really well done! http://www.meagan-marie.com/gallery/cosplay/

I'm in Epsom! :)

I've been mistaken for Italian, Greek and Spanish when in Europe and Australian when in America due to my accent being confusing!!! I'm English for at least two generations on both sides of my family, am Dutch Jew on my mother's side after that, but I get the colouring that makes people mistake my nationality from my dad's…

Thank you for that, since that lesson I have got a bit more positive about myself... still see myself as rubbish but as I've always had low self esteem anyway, I doubt that will ever change, even if I was to become world champion lol! :blushing: I've been doing pole too long and spent too much money on it to give up now,…

My nan lives in Barking! :) My family are from East Ham/Plaistow area but I grew up in Essex and now live in Surrey Always in London for work though in Kensington

You look amazing! I can only hope one day I get that good! :ohwell:

I've only ever been to Florence (and already booked my next trip) so far as Venice hasn't appealed to me as much (although I'm hoping to go next year) but from what I've heard anyway, there's plenty more to see and do in Florence than in Venice. Florence is the birth place of the Renaissance and so the Ufizzi Gallery is…

Yeah I was "diagnosed" by my doctor a few years ago who put me on some tablets that just gave me really bad stomach pains and bloating! I was on the dukan diet last year and my stomach seemed to go down slightly, probably because I wasn't eating any bread. I was still having low fat dairy though and my stomach was still…

Hi ya! I bought my pole after 6 months of being a regular at my classes and I ended up buying the X-Pole X-pert 45mm I think it's called as it's both static and spinning! It reaches up to 9 ft with all the extensions that come with it (which is good as we live in an old building with high ceilings so just managed to…

My boyfriend is a gamer, and he works in games too, so has his dream job pretty much! I've always been a casual gamer apart from my Tomb Raider obsession, but my boyfriend has helped me to get into a wider range of games I would never have known about by my own initiative! We've lived together over 2 years now and our…

I've always dreamt of cosplaying as Lara Croft, but never felt comfortable with my figure... if I manage to get to my goal figure then I'd hope to give it a go! That and Harley Quinn would be awesome! :glasses:

When I first saw this group, I knew there would be a thread about 50 Shades, so I thought I would come in and see what people thought of it.. thank God that the majority of the people here think as little about the series as me! Hate Twilight, so automatically hate this series of books and would not touch them with a barge…

My name's Laurie and I'm 27 yr old woman from Surrey in the UK. I've been into gaming since I was 10 years old and saw my friend's brother playing Tomb Raider and have been an obsessed fan of the series ever since... so much so I got myself a boyfriend who works for the publishers of the game! I've gone through…

Same, that confuses and scares me! :/

I use three different aids for pole work. Two just for my hands as they tend to get really sweaty (can't think of their names right now as I haven't got them to hand, but one is a liquid that dries to form a skin on the hands, and the other is a talc) The third is a very simple and very cheap product that my pole…

Hello fellow polers! My name's Laurie, from the UK and I've been pole dancing since October 2010. After my first lesson I was completely hooked and after about 6 months I decided to buy a pole so I could get more practice at home! I log my progress with photos on my facebook page I'm quite a slow learner so I'm not the…
