Shake hands... to congratulate you on a fantastic choice of haircut!

Yes you can gain muscle while on a calorie deficit. Most likely (if you are eating the correctly ) you are gaining muscle. So many people lose hope and interest if their weight doesnt decrease, the scales only tell part of the story. Body composition (fat calipers/dexa etc) will give you a true outlook.

Have you considered that you may be gaining muscle mass while losing fat? If you're doing heavy lifting (or any real lifting in fact) the weight loss may not be representative of your actual body composition? I was in a similar position to you, started out doing a mix of lifting and cardio. Weight stayed pretty much the…

You cannot "area target" weight loss, but al has been mentioned, stay away from complex carbs and processed sugars! This leads to fat retention around the waist, hips and tummy. I am in the exact same boat as you, I'm around the 15%bf and still have a little pot! Paleo style diets work best for me, loads and loads of veg,…

Firstly, well done on dropping 15lbs. That is a great achievement! Secondly, you are not alone in the way you feel. Its hard work losing weight and getting healthy, if it was easy (both mentally and physically) then everyone would be doing it! I have been working towards a healthier life for the last 3 1/2 years, for the…

Fair enough on time of day and overall calorie intake, but consuming 1 large meal per day will ultimately lead to hungry pangs and failure by binge eating. If your hungry, then eat! The OP has asked is there anything he can do to stop eating so often....

A helathy diet is not just about the balance of calories and nutrients you eat, but also how and when you consume them! It is better to "graze" throughout the day than to eat 2 or 3 big meals. It will increase you metabolism and you will get a more sustained energy release. It will also help with "hungry binge eating"…

Dark Chocolate, +85% cocoa if possible!

Yeah, why not!

He sounds like a ****! MFP will help you to track and be aware of your nutritional and calorie intake, so getting in shape is managable. You should be doing it for yourself tho, not some *kitten* coach!

Given your height/stature/weight you will notice a 15lb weight loss. Thats nearly 10% of your total body mass. For someone that say...280lbs, 15lbs will be less noticable but at 160lbs - 15lbs will make a huge difference!

I'll Give this a rip........... If i can get down to 165 I'll be right in the mix of my goal.... so this could be the last big push i need! SW: 217 CW: 170 GW: 160 Weigh in Dates: 9/1 - 170 9/8 9/15 9/22 9/28 Just for fun: What is your favorite fall exercise? Shredding Mtb trails...........

Here you go...... UFC professional fighters can lose up to 30 lbs in 5 days! Dont fancy it myself though. There is no "quick fix" for losing weight and getting in shape, its a life change and the slower and more natural the better! If you manage a natural 2 lbs per week loss, then by your friends wedding you will 8-10 lbs…

This thread is misleading to say the least........ Everyone burns calories just sitting around, sleeping, breathing.... basically at rest. This is known as your BMR (basal metabolic rate). This number is different for everyone and is determined by many factors including genes, lifestyle, body mass etc. If you know your BMR…

Tell me about it...... Been hovering around the 175-180 mark for a couple of months now. Had a good long break from training from March until about 4/5 weeks ago.Although the weight has stayed fairly constant, BF% has increased! I'm more interested in BF% than actual scales weight! I have a fairly intensive training…

If you're interested in getting an accurate BF% then find somewhere local that performs a DEXA scan. They are the most accurate way of measurement, if a little pricey! Stay away from the electronic garbage BF% scales.... waste of time, money and effort!
