  • I was an in-denial size 12 at my highest (pretty sure I was a size 14 if I had caved in and bought pants I wasn't bursting out of), now I'm a size 8 or 10 depending on the brand. So after around 40 lbs I only dropped 2-3 sizes. If you asked me at my heaviest what size I would be after losing 40 lbs I would definitely have…
  • I'm just gonna chime in to say that 2 weeks isn't really long enough to gauge progress if you're just starting out. It took me 3 weeks to see the scale move when I started. Also, weight loss isn't linear for a lot of people. I don't lose a set amount every week, my weight stagnates for 2 weeks, then my cycle hits and I may…
  • That is awesome! I hope I can claim that as my NSV too some day. Also, I definitely think angle/lighting/etc has something to do with it. The pics I was most shocked at were the ones of me sitting. Standing shots are usually much more flattering. Less lumps and all.
  • I love to eat mustard with my french fries and eggs. When I used to eat meat, I liked to season steaks with mustard as well. I also have a weird quirk about people who make wet smacking noises when they chew. I have to eat with my mouth closed and I cringe when I accidentally make the sound myself.
  • I always try to stay under, but occasionally I'll go slightly into the red. If I go more than 200 over I try to burn it off somehow. For the days that I'm over by a little I don't sweat it because I walk a lot every day just to get around (no car) but I rarely log that, I only log intentional exercise. I figure those…
  • Def need to try these!
  • I don't understand how the protein shake is 200 and PB&J sandwich is 150 with those ingredients. 2 cups of 1% milk is 110 calories, 2 cups of 2% is 122 calories. I'm not sure how a whole banana, a whole apple, and 2 scoops of protein powder can possibly be under 90 calories??? Unless the recipe makes more than 1 serving?…
  • Yes it has a small amount of calories. Anything under a negligible amount of calories per serving size can be labeled as 0 calories, but obviously there are some calories there that add up to a very small amount. I log cooking spray as 7 calories per one second spray, and I spray for 3+ seconds so I log it as around 21…
  • So has anyone actually made this? I tried it out but unfortunately the pretzel crust ended up really gummy and the salt from the pretzel sticks I used were a little too salty. I am going to adjust the recipe a bit and try it again tomorrow. I think I'll pass on the pretzel crust and use a pre-made fat free graham cracker…
  • My suggestion is to make sure you know your frame size. There is nothing that sucks more than riding a bike that has a frame that's too small/large for you. I'm rather short so I managed to find a used Specialized mountain bike on Craigslist for $100 for my height, which included new brake pads and tires recently…
  • Obligatory Anchorman gif. I used to be heavily interested in Japanese pop culture when I was younger. The weight loss ads in some of the magazines had girls of smaller statures going from 120 to 95 lbs, to the point that they were extremely slender. That is the beauty ideal in many Asian countries. Different cultures,…
  • Not very well, because it...wouldn't make any sense in the context of the marketing tactic. The genetic trait of every white women's hair does not involve instantly reversing texture upon moisture contact after spending hundreds of dollars at the salon to alter the texture. They are marketing to a certain demographic in…
  • Anybody holding a plank for an hour should be tested for gamma radiation levels and should be in talks with Stan Lee about starring in their own mini series. Also, today is thread necro day apparently.
  • Eat as much fruit as I want and lose weight? Yeah no thanks, and tons of fruit turns my stomach. I would live on the toilet with the hershey squirts. Also, I can't stand the taste of raw banana. :\ ...Good luck with that though, whatever works for you I guess. ETA: Also just noticed this thread was necro'd pretty hard. Why…
  • You should be fine as long as you make an attempt to somehow track your portions and calorie intake. I think you can eat whatever they provide and still manage to create a deficit. I definitely think it could work. Anything will work, no need for crazy "diet" foods or anything. Just eat less and exercise and you'll do…
  • It feels like, at least for me, that being fat is a sensitive topic and friends and family don't want to go there. However, when you start dropping lbs then you're fair game, and your weight is no longer a taboo subject. When I was gaining weight as a kid, my dad mentioned something about my weight gain once that I can…
  • Also on a low cal muffin kick, made some cinnamon apple 100 cal muffins last weekend and would love to try these! Thanks for sharing!
  • 1694 with the maths. MFP estimates my maint at 1670. Scooby's gives me 1698. So.. all seems well.
  • Yes, you will need to manually enter your exercise daily.
  • People post "bump" so that if they click on the Community tab and click "My Topics", the thread will show up for them for visit at a later time. Also... BUMP! I might want to try this this weekend!
  • Okami HD release! And as always, DDR.
  • Personally I find the best method is to keep your weight loss journey personal and kept within your weight loss support group. Unless someone asks me about it or mentions my weight loss, I don't talk about it. I got made fun of at home for using a digital scale to "obsessively" weigh all my food, and was told counting…
  • You sound lke me when I skip breakfast, lol. Seriously, I get pretty cranky when my blood sugar levels drop. It's such a stark contrast to my normal demeanor that I've long since been able to tell when the hangriness starts to kick in, even before I started losing weight. Some people are just more sensitive to it. There's…
  • This is aweome! I always thought the different Lolita styles were super pretty. great work!
  • Not gonna lie I thought this was a neat idea, but that price tag... just no. Also... who else is reminded of the Hawaii Chair?
  • Try eating at maintenance a couple days and doing some light exercise. It can't hurt you, and worst case scenario you just stall for week. I sometimes do this when I'm sick of restricting calories and want to splurge a bit without setting myself back.
  • Holy **** those are some impressive lifts. You are amazing. Congrats! :drinker:
  • Breakfast ideas: 2 large eggs and 2 Morning Star veggie sausage links - 220 calories 1 large egg, 2 slices of Sara Lee 45 calorie wheat bread, 7 grams of Smart Balance light butter spread, 2 tbsp of Smucker's Low Sugar jam - 235 calories 1.5 servings of Kellogg's Special K protein cereal and 1 cup of almond milk - 240…
  • You Are Your Own Gym is a great app and only 2.99. You do need household props such as tables and chairs and a conveniently placed doorway. Some exercises are a little precarious and have you hanging off of doorknobs, but the app has an FAQ of alternatives if you aren't comfortable doing that sort of stuff on your doors.…
  • I stopped using bottles of canola oil to cook because I pour it rather heavy-handed, and easily can dump 120 cal into that pan which is 1 tbsp. I switched to "zero" calorie canola spray but I know calories don't magically disappear, especially in oil for goodness sake! The serving size for cooking spray is a little bogus -…
