Almonds, celery and peanut butter, yogurt, one serving of Cheerios, string cheese paired with grapes or pretzels, those cheese wedges, 2 eggs, oatmeal

Yep. I lost 30 lbs just counting calories and no exercise, and lost another 20 by adding in exercise.
-
Figure out your calorie deficit on here (either you want to lose 1-2 lbs per week) and then just eat at the calories they give you. I lost 30 lbs just following my daily calories and didn't exercise at all.

You don't need to work out to lose weight. I lost 40 pounds just counting calories on here. But I did find working out gave me an extra boost.... Just find something you like doing. The treadmill bored me, so I took a yoga class and started swimming and looked forward to it every single day. Just find what works for you.

I understand how you are feeling. I too used to be an all or nothing girl, so I'm not gonna say anything to make you change your eating habits! It worked for me so if it works for you to then that's great. Anyway, I'm not a big drinker either. I drink maybe twice per year but all my friends and family think something's…

I'm not logging anything. My fiancée and I are staying at a casino resort and they have an amazing buffet. I am always really good during the week so I'm not worried about it at all. It's a holiday and I want to enjoy it!!!
-
I do this as well
-
I "quick add" calories and it has worked great for me. I lost 50 lbs just doing quick add.

I'm going to eat whatever I want on actual Thanksgiving and Christmas! Other than that I'll be eating like I am now to keep losing weight  Don't want to deprive myself of anything especially on a holiday.

It's a personal decision when to weigh or not. For me, I hated weighing only once per week on a set day; a lot of those times I wouldnt see a loss but the next day would weigh (out of curiosity) and see like a 4 pound loss. I started weighing myself every day in the morning after waking up and going to the bathroom. It has…

I wouldn't hold my fiancée up to my own standards because I know each person has to go on this journey themselves and find what works for them. What works for me won't work for him. His weight would only cause problems in our relationship if his health were at risk. Currently he's about 20 pounds overweight (but you could…

I am the same way. I didn't see a difference after 30 pounds and only starting getting comments after I lost 50. But I went from a size 22 to a loose 16 (could've fit a 14 probably!) What would you say your body type is like? It would take a while to notice too if you're tall.
-
Feel free to add me! I would like to lose 80-100 pounds (it will be more around 80). I have no doubt you can do it! This journey can be really hard. I lost 50 but have gained back 25. Set backs suck but as long as you stay motivated and focused you can do it! And you have the great motivation of your daughter  I am…

Thank you for the suggestions and the link! I am reading through it now and find it helpful  and you're right, I didn't realize how hard it would be until I was actually here! And thank you to everyone else too for your stories, they really motivated me. Since I first posted this I began counting calories again and…

I try to be "balanced" during the week, like I will eat small pieces of chocolate which does subside my cravings. But my boyfriend and I eat out every Friday and usually Saturday. I'm not eating anything horrible (we usually go to an authentic Mexican restaurant) but I just eat too much! I moved to be with my boyfriend. I…

You are right, I am quite lonely. I moved to a rural town with 700 (!) people and it's so opposite to what I'm accustomed to (I previously lived in a beach town that had a lot to do). I've actually looked into groups like that but there are none! Thankfully my boyfriend is into being healthier, too, so we started walking…

Really? I have had heartburn only a few times but acid reflux seems completely different. Whenever I get my reflux my chest doesn't have that pain of heartburn. So I don't know. Interesting. Wheat/bread also seems to be the problem for me. The reflux starts mainly after I eat bread, and it's funny because most people said…

I am engaged but we don't have a set date, but we are also eloping! So thankfully I don't feel a ton of pressure to lose weight by a certain time. Like another poster said, I'm not losing weight solely for the wedding (seeing as I've been on this site for years, lol) but would love to reach my goal weight for whenever our…

Interesting, thank you everyone for your help! I drink only one cup of coffee daily, and have decided to cut it out since my acid reflux starts immediately after that. I've noticed it starts after eating canned tomatoes (like in a soup or stew) and happens when I lay down, so I think I might be eating/drinking too late!…

"If you don't want to earn minimum wage then go to college, gain more skills, etc" What about the people who DID go to college? What is the excuse then? I know people who have Master's degrees and are unemployed.

I only have one cup of coffee each morning, and I 2 tbsp of liquid creamer. It only has 30 calories per tbsp, so 60 calories. I can't drink coffee black or just milk so its worth the calories.

This! I can't think of something specific my boyfriend has done, but he's extremely supportive and reassures me that he loved me at 255 pounds and loves me now at 205 and no matter how much more I decide to lose. My ex-boyfriend was NEVER like that; he knew I was trying to lose weight and would try and shove junk into my…

I would love anyone from this thread to add me!!!!! My highest weight ever was 250. I gained about 40 pounds in a year due to being in a new relationship with someone who had horrible habits. Well once we broke up, I lost those 40 pounds and am currently 210. My ultimate goal weight is 165 but I would probably be happy at…

Tonight I'm having a turkey burger on an English muffin. I mix onion and mozzarella cheese into the meat and cook it on the stovetop, then top it with mustard, more onions, spinach, and a slice of tomato. For a side I'll probably have some veggies and diced watermelon. Yummy!
-
If I have a craving during that TOM, I will usually just eat whatever I'm craving! Obviously I still log it, and typically I will workout harder or longer during that week because I know I won't make the healthiest choices. Some alternatives I've found is fruit (seriously!) or some chocolate covered strawberries.
-
1. I've found that you HAVE to log every single day, even if what you eat is horrible. I like to give myself treats throughout the week but make sure I figure them into my daily calorie allotment, instead of having an all out cheat day. Also, its crucial for me to focus on short term goals instead of long term. 2. Since…

I weigh myself daily but only record when I see a loss. Doesn't matter the day of the week. If I lose weight and it "sticks" for a few days, then I assume its a permanent loss so I record it.
-
I'm applying to graduate school for this fall, also! Feel free to add me!

Just drink green tea. It's probably cheaper than pills, anyway. I drink about 3 cups daily and have noticed that it does help with weight loss, but obviously you have to eat better and count calories along with drinking the tea.

Someone (from here, no less) told me that protein powder shouldn't be heated. I was asking about using it in oatmeal and they told me to add it after the oatmeal had cooked. I don't know if thats accurate or not, but I'd love to try protein powder pancakes
