Just make sure you tap it until it's chopped to your liking! It's very efficient and will do too much if you aren't careful.

Anything labelled fat free or low fat. Anything by Special K. I've not had a lot of luck with Hungry Girl's recipes either (I have, however, had a lot of luck with The Comfort Food Diet Cookbook). I refuse to even try those shirataki noodle things. They just look disgusting. Anything sugar free. It's not low carb or low…

A big benefit of the Ninja over a traditional blender is that the blades rotate in tiers from top to bottom, instead of only the bottom. This allows it to blend, as well as chop. I perfectly chopped an onion, a couple of garlic cloves, and two chipotle peppers in my Ninja yesterday in about two seconds and, by doing it…

I'm another with a Ninja and a lot of love for it!

Unless it is already at 1200. 1200 is MFP's safety net.

Grilling it is somewhat common (just enough to warm it up and put grill marks on it). I did see someone on The Taste who deep fried it. The judges thought it was very creative and I think all but one liked it.

I will probably be here in some capacity for forever. I will probably stop tracking once I've gotten to goal and have been maintaining a while, but I've made friends here that I would like to keep up with and I like the forums.

For an accurate calorie burn, you will need an HRM. The Fitbit is primarily a pedometer with a bonus of an estimated calorie burn. It's an awesome gadget, but it's not an HRM.

There is very little debate about this, except from people who don't understand what happens when meat gets cooked. Meat is always, always, always weighed raw unless the specific entry in the database specifies that it is cooked. The weight that is lost is primarily from water which means all the nutrition from a 4oz piece…

You're going to have to either open up your diary or tell us how much you're eating.

Before, unless the item in the database specifies cooked. The reason for this is that a 4oz hunk of meat has the same nutritional value if it's cooked down to 3oz of juicy perfection or 2oz of overcooked jerky. This goes for anything where liquid is either added or removed in the process of cooking.

2oz of broccoli means 2oz of weight, not 2 fluid ounces (which is 1/4 of a cup). If you weighed it at two ounces, find the weight measurement in the database you (you will see an option for either ounces or grams) and either input it as 2oz or convert it to grams (2oz is about 57g).

I've tried to get it to work out so often that I've banned myself from ever trying again. I have never had one come out that wasnt absolutely disgusting.
-
The reason it says uncooked it so you can weigh it prior to cooking it to get as accurate nutrition information as possible.

No kidding!

My OB would be all over this. I LOST weight the first half of my pregnancy. I did not have morning sickness, I did not have nausea, and, except for plain milk, I did not have food aversions. My body just refused to gain weight. I was told to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and I did. I ate all the things. It…

Umm. Hocus pocus? They're watching you walk/run to figure out what would work best for your personal stride and then seeing what size you wear, not chanting an incantation that makes correct fitting shoes magically appear on your feet. :-P I just went for my first fitting. It was free. They watched me walk back and forth…

This is what I do as well. I also leave a couple hundred calories available at the end of the day for a snack, if I choose to eat one, which I usually do. I don't like feeling like I'm starving at the end of the day and not having any room to eat anything.

Eating clean will provide your body with more micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), but it is not necessary to lose weight. For me, most of my meals are homemade, but I do not fret over the occasional boxed meal or takeout dinner.

It will help to open your diary.

Carbs, fat, and protein.

Fat does not make you fat. Your body needs fat to survive. Do not fear the fat.

Hibachi steak, veggies, white rice, spring rolls, and mushroom soup, followed by several glasses of wine.

I was doing low carb and it was working fine, until I started adding back in real exercise (running and 30 Day Shred). I was dizzy and shaky, but it cleared up immediately once I bumped my carbs back up. I'm at between 30-40% carbs per day now. Like others have said, it is still calories in, calories out.

I have a 32oz Nalgene bottle. I try to drink three of those full of water a day. I usually only get to two, but that's alright. I don't care if it's cold or room temp. Occasionally I will add one of those flavor things to it, but not terribly often.

I hate unsolicited advice in general. Going off on a slight tangent here, but I get a lot of it from my mom over my daughter. She hasn't had a one year old in 26 years, but she thinks she knows nearly everything about them and the things that she doesn't know, I should get advice or explicit permission from my doctor.…

Biggest, dinner usually. Smallest is nearly always breakfast.

All of these options are equally valid for me and completely depend on the food and the occasion.

Basted with butter or scrambled with butter. Sometimes I will make a ham, spinach, mushroom, havarti omelette, but that takes a bit of effort so I don't do it often.
