  • BINGO! Thank you! I joined on June 22, 2012. I did put a weight in when I joined but it was a number I made up, so I remember I went back and actually deleted that. Outsmarted myself apparently!
  • That's a great thought! I just looked and it looks like I didn't start posting until July. I really didn't leave myself any clues! :( Thank you for the great thought though.
  • Thank you! Unfortunately I don't think I did weigh in that day :( I might have but I ordered my scale the day I logged in, so while I may have backdated an entry I have a hunch I didn't. Bummer! Thank you anyway.
  • I had a baby in September. Shockingly, I did not log in that day :) So that is out. I have logged in every day since though, but unfortunately, that doesn't help me :) Thanks though!
  • My garmin f10 has been great for the past 2 years, doing exactly the basics this new runner needed. I am only looking to upgrade now because the battery life is 5 hours and I am worried it may die before I finish my first marathon, which would suck. (I am expecting around a 5 hour time. Sigh!)
  • Definitely this. And I do find when I am running with the stroller I get a lot more of these, so I definitely take it as meant positively. I am sure there are some jerks out there, but I choose to take it positively. And if I don't - that's my issue; the person saying it is almost certainly trying to be nice.
  • The tummy is a hard one especially because there are so many videos about "Blast your abs in 10 minutes" yadda yadda. It makes you feel like the answer should be easy but a lot of bodies store fat there unfortunately. See I actually think my arms have good muscle definition under the layer of fat - I can tell the…
  • The Frankenstein issue is one I expected, I really expected to have a big butt and thighs for a long time. I was just surprised, I figured those would be the easiest! Haha you can hate me, I'm good with that. Grass is always greener, I'm more bemused than anything else though. Lol glad I made somebody laugh. I think this…
  • I don't have nor can I afford a gym membership unfortunately or I'd love to do a heavy lifting program. That said strength training will definitely burn fat but I don't think it will cause my body to prioritize burning the fat on my arms, right? I knew it.
  • That makes sense. It's still relatively a smaller loss but it does make me feel better, I hadn't thought about that. Logic! I do do pushups but I also lift an 18lb baby up and down all day. I am not worried about strength so much, more just wishing spot reduction were real haha. Yes Toad, that's exactly it. :P No, I was…
  • 1 breast will feed baby just fine, but it's also not unusual for breasts to produce differently. It doesn't mean you've dried up. I would nurse first on that side if you're worried though.
  • zomg you mean food can turn into FAT?! le gasp
  • Would, did, and was last, but it was fine. If I thought I was going to be last by like hours I might not, I'd hate to be a significant hold up, but someone's gotta be last.
  • I could never ever go to bed hungry, much less that hungry. I have no idea what your body needs, but I have to be honest, nothing is worth being hungry to me!
  • What about slow pokes who expect to be about 11mm? If I capped it at 3 hours I wouldn't hit 20 :)
  • Very common and nothing to worry about, almost every woman will notice one breast will out produce the other. (And related, often while nursing breasts will be different sizes! My right breast is a full cup size larger than my left. Now THAT'S attractive!)
  • I get those if I don't hydrate well enough before the run. If I am doing the math right you had a glass before the run and 300ml is about 10oz during the run. If I did that I'd guarantee myself a headache. Every body is different but I have found with mine I can't go run a long run without having had at least 32oz before…
  • Thank you! Thank you all for the responses, it was great to hear so many opinions :)
  • Thank you all for your responses. To clarify I am no longer aiming for 120...I think it would be too thin for me. I am already thinner and fitter than I was at the high end of my normal weight from when I was younger, I don't think I could get to 120 in a healthy way right now. I don't have a way to measure my bf %. I just…
  • I will probably never come close to an AG placing, so for me it's PRs. I have to think an AG win would probably beat a PR for me though...I am extremely competitive, just also realistic, haha.
  • Hi all! My name is Heather and I did my first run on 8/1/12 - the day1 of Couch to 5K! At the end of the program I ran two 5Ks, my first in 40:18 and the second in 39:45. I felt soooo slow! I kept working on it and by January 2013 I had whittled my PR down to 35:17, but shortly thereafter I got pregnant and PRs - but not…
  • The best way to deal with biting is hard unfortunately - do your best not to react other than putting baby down and saying "We don't bite Mommy." It's hard though because it does hurt so inadvertantly yelling "ow" is easy to do. The other thing that comes to mind is that if he's actually latched the way their mouths have…
  • For me I had to divorce the idea that running had anything to do with weight loss. I restrict calories to lose weight (reasonable deficit) and run to get better at running, eating my exercise cals back to keep my deficit healthy/reasonable and keep my ability to run.
  • Feeling sorry for my poor little F10 now! I got it when I just started running and it's seen me through 4 halfs and a ton of smaller runs...with a marathon this fall maybe I do need to upgrade. Blech!
  • Scoping out this thread as I am looking at a similar issue. I am running Chicago in October, just did my goal half 2 weeks ago and now have a whole lot of time in between. I did 12MPW last week (Plan was 17, but the half was really hilly and my legs weren't as recovered as I thought). Planning 17-19 this week and then…
  • I was a non runner. You can see my story here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/852214-nsv-journey-to-a-half-marathon-in-pics-sort-of ^ I used to hate running. Despise. Dreaded c25k workouts. And somewhere along the way, I fell in love. I just finished my fourth HM and will run a marathon this year. I am a convert :P
  • As a member of the opposite sex, I have been attracted to plenty of men who have stretchmarks. Some people get them during puberty just from growth spurts. Most aren't noticed. -shrugs- I know that's not what you're asking, but I'll throw that in. As for how to live with them? They exist - whether you are healthy and fit…
  • Thank you all! I am so so amazed and jazzed by how the race went, still! It's RIDICULOUS! I love it. Normally the medal for this half is a giant penny and that think is pretty big itself - but this anniversary medal is just lethal. I hung it and actually laughed because it's next to the penny from last year and just dwarfs…
