Yes - the mfp burn changing, which should only change if you change height/weight etc, is what is changing for me. super frustrating and confusing.

Well, I'm glad to see this isn't just me. My diary numbers aren't making any sense. I'm supposed to be at 250cal deficit TOTAL, MFP says my goal is 250 cals lower than fitbit says it should be...if I wanted a 1lb deficit I'd have set it that way! :P

Yes, I was curious how those correlate to step counts. IE if I I thought I was lightly active what step count should I expect to see? Christinev297 linked an article that had the answer :) Thanks for your help though!

I don't think I am explaining my question right, I am asking what mfp considers lightly active, moderately active, etc. It is a generic question with no relation to my actual weight loss goals. Thanks for the link, that helps! Walking and Activity Levels Researchers at Arizona State University have established baseline…

Oh I know it doesn't end up mattering, I am curious what they correspond to though :) That's all I mean.

Oh tofu is a great idea. I knew I was forgetting something!! I do do pb and nut stuff but find it's not enough protein for the overall calories. I do a lot of lentils, love them. Beans too, veggie bean burritos and such are yum.

(Also, your picture is perfect. Adipose!)

I can cook fine. Fish has been right up there with meat lately though. I don't know what's wrong with me but it's just not appealing.

I ran my first 50k! In awful uber windy conditions. But I finished!
-
Well the heel is fine today. -shrugs- I've been running the past couple days so I guess I'm ok.

Yeah I spent a long time googling, but wasn't getting anywhere. I think I just bruised it. That or a stress fracture, but I think it's more likely just well and truly whacked. I have rested for a few days and am seeing how it goes.

What a tough course!! Way to go!!

Wow. Did not expect to see that.

I got around 500 on my last two pair of mizunos, I got about 400 on my adidas. Right now I have 4-5 in rotation ranging from less than 50 to almost 300. Two pairs of reeboks, two saucony, 1 brooks, and a pair of mizunos almost at 500 that I just can't quite let go yet. The most used pair is brooks and I don't think I'll…

Because we planned it as a couple's activity :) We paid for the race photos too, and plan to cross the finish line holding hands. Thank you all for the input! I am not sure it will even work looking at what Marathons are around Chicago, but I definitely feel good with the input here no matter which way I opt. Thank you!…

Well that's what I really am wondering, how close is doable? I know I'd need weeks of additional taper if I did this. I'm not sold on the idea. I was also told that some soreness on my long runs is fairly normal during my first training cycle..I experienced it the first time I upped my distance for a hm training cycle too,…

Target c9 compression, has a 7 inch inseam option. Plain, no pockets, but it works.

I was a little freaked when I made this thread yesterday, but I called my pcp this morning and according to the nurse he wasn't concerned, I have no history and had no other symptoms - felt fine, not cold, not shakey, no blood sugar issues, no shortness of breath, nada. The finish line was in a stadium and my friend…

I am slowly edging out of the back of the pack...right now I am probably pretty solid back of the middle? Lol. But. My very first long distance race, when I finished there was only water left. No gatorade or snacks. I was too excited to realize what a fail that was, because I was way undertrained (and didn't know it, but…

I used to run fasted except for long runs, but right now I'm nursing my 9 month old and find that I get light-headed during the run if I don't eat something first. I have always been able to eat/drink a lot before a run and be fine though (I once ate spicy cheetos and went out for a run...absent some heartburn it was…

One baby is getting solids as meals and not play I cut cals to 300 - depends on the baby, my daughter generally only played til she was about 12 months, while my son is eating a solid meal a day. I am still subtracting 500 and losing consistently but I think once he starts eating more meals I will cut it down to 300.

I would really appreciate that, Carson. Should I post it here or would you prefer I PM?
-
Thank you both for the suggestions! Much appreciated =)

That makes total sense. As a relatively new runner (about 2 years now) it is sometimes hard to sort through what applies to novices and what to veterans and what to both! I appreciate the clarification, thank you.
-
There is only one pace run in the novice 2 plan, and it is not every week. That said that didn't occur to me, I always run my first mile slowly and then the rest of the mileage is at pace. I guess I should add an extra mile on pace days!
-
That makes total sense. So the percentage is a good goal to work towards then? I feel better about the plan now.

Diets only work when you're on them. Don't diet. Diet is a four letter word. If you can't make a change that can last forever, then don't make that change. You won't lose the weight as fast as if you diet. But you will lose - and you will be healthier.
-
Thank you! It's been a very interesting ride, for sure.

Thank you! Fixed the size on some of the ginormous pics.

Thanks B! I can't remember but I do remember changing my entry when my scale came. So either I entered nothing or I made it up, hah. Ninerbuff - haha! No worries :) Sadly on June 4 I was still happily oblivious to how unhealthy I was - my "moment" in time wouldn't come until June 15. And it took me a few days to find MFP,…
