This might not be an exact match, but the Wii Fit with Balance Board has balance, yoga, and strength training besides the aerobic activities. These were good for me when I was recovering from having a brain surgery where my hearing and balance nerves were cut on one side. While my other set of balance nerves has now evened…

I spent 6 weeks in/near Adelaide... does that count? :drinker:

I am 5'6" and will be 42 in a few months. When I was 155# the summer between high school and college, the doctor giving me my physical said that I could lose about 5#. I gained the frosh 15, and have never been below 160 since. Christmas of 2008 I was 264. I am nearly 50 pounds less than that now, and I am shooting for 150…

PS... My setting is at "sedentary" BTW... If you have it set at "lightly active" or higher, you won't want to count all those daily activities, because they're included in your starting calorie count.

When I first started, I counted everything.... if it got my buttprint off the couch, it counted. I've gradually become more selective as time has gone on--I only count the dog walk if I've taken him for more than a brief tinkle walk, I only count cleaning, walking, biking, if I either (a) did the activity for at least 10…

I started a much longer answer to this, and it blinked away, so I'll shorten it. I had brain surgery a year ago. The healing that I had to do was literally all in my head--nerves and bone. I was told to only do walking as exercise for a while, and with good reason--because my body needed to spend its energies healing my…

As a point of reference, I had surgery to have an acoustic neuroma removed a year ago this week. It was 1.6x1.9 at that time. I had lost about half the hearing in my left ear. Also, right about the time it was discovered I had (a) quit my blood pressure medicine on my own and (b) started eating salty snacks at work for…

Raises hand. One year ago this week I had a 1.6x1.9 acoustic neuroma/vestibular schwannoma removed (left retrosigmoid craniotomy, for those who like the fancy words). Recovery was tough, but I am one of the lucky ones. I can still drive, work, laugh, knit, exercise--I lost my hearing on that side, but I had no facial…

In my humble experience, when I eat makes as much difference as what I eat. I gained much of my weight eating the bulk of my calories at dinner time, with dinner being around 7 or 7:30, then going to bed by 9. If you eat after 7, but you don't go to bed until 11 and you work out in between, it's likely not a problem. If…

^ THIS! TOM = salt, chocolate, and ibuprofen for cramps = water weight gain. Well, this too shall pass!

It's those little, very personal, things that truly count the most. I so hear you on that one! I've heard others say that their NSV was when they could submerge the whole belly under water. Bubble baths should make you feel pretty--so glad you had that moment!

Love me some Offbeat Bride... got addicted to the site first, then went out and bought the book. So many inspirational things are posted there!

Have been doing Start It Up almost every day for about 3 weeks. The arms, the arms! Now I can do the whole thing without dropping my arms. I do it in the morning before work, so if I'm rushed for time I'll skip the lunges & squats in order to get the waist/arm work done. This weekend is girls' weekend out of state, but…

I am doing Slim in 6 as well. So far I'm only doing Start it Up, which I read somewhere was 300 calories. Somewhere I got the numbers 300 for Start it Up, 400 for Ramp it Up, and either 500 or 600 for Burn it Up. However, I don't remember my source, or even know if that is correct. When wearing my HRM, it only showed 100…

I had this same concern and actually searched "poop" to see if anyone else was having the same problem. Upon scrolling through, I feel a little better. Apparently 1) body is probably using more of what I'm putting into it 2) need to increase fruit/veg intake. What a relief to know I'm not alone!

Another David's Bridal here. First I looked at lots and lots of dresses online. Then I saw an online special at DB -- it was essentially a bridesmaid dress style but in white or ivory. I went to my local store, tried on a bunch of dresses (including the one with the jacket that someone posted here--LOVED but was afraid I'd…

Me, too! Except mine is at work with the A/C on. I have a little fan I'd have to turn on myself because I would overheat--now I'm having to bring in little sweaters because I get cold! What a great feeling! Congratulations!

I haven't read the whole thread, this may have already been suggested, but I'm thinking about taking clothes to My Sister's Closet, a consignment shop here in the Phoenix area. My plan is (although I haven't done this yet to see if it will work) to trade in the clothes that are too big and purchase ones that will fit me…
