  • If you are under your calorie goal, why do you feel defeated? The idea is to come as close to your calorie goal as possible. Too far under will not reap you any additional benefits, and may even hold you back. If you accurately logged everything and still came in under your goal, then you had a great day.
  • ^^This. Before I had my HRM and Fitbit, I would log my exercise routine in 3 different websites and take the average of the three. http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/Calories.html seems to be the one that most closely and consistently matches my HRM reads for cardio workouts.
  • It's about time you've acknowledged your sugar-momma.
  • The C25K app for my phone was only $1.99, and it's worth it to me to not have to worry about checking the timer. The app has optional settings so that it will vibrate and/or give a verbal prompt when it's time to change up... without disabling the music playlist. I haven't tried any of the free apps because I couldn't find…
  • All of my cars get a name once they show their personality. My current car is Max (maximum payment, maximum performance). I love Max.
  • MFP records the calories and macros that are entered for the items you've selected as a total of each, it does not calculate calories based on macros or vice versa. If a you select a database item that was entered by another member, they may omitted or inaccurately entered the carbs, fats, etc. Look for entries that don't…
  • Temporary
  • one-pound package of oreo cookies, with a 24 oz coffee (cream and sugar, of course). Anything else I've eaten in one sitting pales in comparison to that sickening moment when I looked down and saw 3 cookies left in the package. No point in saving three.
  • 5'5" 133 lbs Start my day at 1520, usually end with about 1900-2200 cal/day, depending on my fitbit recommendations.
  • Another vote for Yes!. Got my Fitbit in March 2013 and still love it just as much, if not more, each week. My only regret is having to take it off while I shower.
  • My go-to afternoon snack is popcorn. One of the 100 calorie bags does a great job of holding me over until dinner. But my all-time favorite (anytime) snack is 1 Tbs each peanut butter and sugar free jelly on a toasted english muffin.
  • Sending a FR your way... I'm eating at maintenance which can be just as challenging as losing weight, but I'm logging every day and try to be supportive and appreciate the continued support of my MFP's. I believe it is possible to enjoy the foods (and drinks) we love and be healthy and fit at the same time. Hope to see…
  • Sounds like I found a new home for my favorite sugar free blueberry preserves... thanks for the recipe!
  • OMG Wow!!! Amazing work! Congratulations on your success. :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you (seriously and sarcastically). I was a little worried for a minute, but now I'm just salivating.
  • Absolutely this^ Now take those cookies out of your closet and put them on your mom's nightstand!
  • I'm 5'5", 44 y/o and currently at 133-135 lbs. I started about a year ago and switched to maintenance sometime in March. I still weigh, measure and log everything I eat, take Zumba classes 2-3x a week and strength training 3 days a week. Also just started C25K and hoping I survive the nine weeks.
  • <raises hand... 405+ days
  • I did Week 1 Day 1 yesterday but couldn't finish because my toes were feeling squished in my sneakers. Going to buy better running shoes today! I never in my life thought I would be able to run/jog, but I loved it and I know I can do this. Looking forward to trying again and hopefully that will be the only day I have to…
  • This is not grilled chicken, but I it needs no butter or oil and turns out quite tasty: Creamy Tarragon Chicken (I did steal...ahem, adapt this recipe from a WW cookbook, but it is amazingly easy and so yummy with brown rice and some fresh, steamed veggies) Chicken - Breast, meat only, raw, 12 oz Chicken Broth No Msg Added…
  • If you allow fitbit calorie adjustments, I believe the recommendation is that your settings are "sedentary" on both sites. I have mine set up that way and have been very happy with the results for the past few months. Good luck!
  • If you want to figure out what you burn on a daily basis, I would recommend a Fitbit or something similar. I only use my HRM (as recommended) for cardio workouts. I've had my Fitbit for a few months and the calorie burns for my cardio seem to now be consistent on both devices but the Fitbit has not let me down when it…
  • You're very welcome! I don't count my strength training as a calorie burn either because according to my fitbit it's not much, but I do track it under Strength Training to see my progress and accomplishments. I don't lift heavy but am slowly working my way up and very happy with my progress so far. My diary is open to…
  • The bingo wings may "appear" to be getting larger because the rest of you is getting smaller. That's awesome progress! My bingo wings were mostly stretched/sagging skin as a result of weight loss, more-so than excess fat. Time and patience are key. That said, I have noticed significant improvement by doing strength…
  • I log everything. For cardio, I log what my HRM says and eat back most if not all of the calories because 1) I am hungry and 2) my body needs the fuel to support the activity. For strength training MFP doesn't add calories but i log to track my progress and accomplishments,
  • I'm like you in that I always have to have something to drink close by. When I'm craving cold (and it's too early for wine), I drink flavored seltzer. Very refreshing.
  • Potential Murder Suspect
  • EAT! I just finished a PB&J sandwich, my usual late night snack, at 11:30 pm. What you've heard about eating late is sensationalist bull$h!t. Your body is alive and working 24 hours a day, and can process and digest food even while you're sleeping. You're sleeping, not dead.
  • I wear mine on my bra as well and have never had a problem. If you turn it on while you're working out, you can then see it as activity in your fitbit log. If you don't turn it on it still shows the calorie burn but not as a separate activity. When you post your workout as cardio on MFP it will allow you to set the start…
