Don't get discouraged, it sounds like you're on the right track. Machines in the gym and MFP often have high estimates. Even HRM's aren't completely accurate, but possibly closer since you calibrate it to monitor YOUR heart rate, not a generic number. If you're seeing results with what you're doing, keep at it.. it's…

I think there are people that just want attention, even if it's only for negative things. I don't think your friend wants advice, just sympathy. I generally ignore people who post constant cries for attention, wondering why all the bad things happen to them but never look to themselves for the answer. Not everyone truly…

Looking good! Love the 'messy background' disclaimer.

I have stabbed myself in the eye.. with my fingernail.. while asleep. I didn't bring me any satisfaction whatsoever. You don't say why your considering forking yourself in the eye, but given the choice, I would suggest you just stab someone else in the eye with said fork and ask them to relay the experience while it is…

Sending you a friend request. My diary is open to friends, but be warned... I eat lots of food and drink lots of wine. A lot of what's in my diary is from recipes that I've created (I love to cook) and I'd be happy to share anything you find interesting.

I recently found this recipe and loved it. Next time I'll add some cayenne for a little kick, but I like spicy. I'm sure you could easily double or triple the recipe for a crowd. It's about 100 calories per 1/4 cup serving. Just make sure to bake them until they are dried out and crunchy. Spicy Chickpea Nuts 1 15-ounce can…

Rest day for me but I still burned calories walking the mall for 4 hours, shopping for new, smaller clothes.

I never expected that at 43 that I would be at the lowest weight I've ever been in my adult life. I am 20 lbs below my original goal weight and now working on strength training to try to improve my overall body composition. It takes hard work and patience. I accept that I may never look like I did when I was 25. That's ok,…

What?!?! I'm only supposed to do this if I'm alone? :drinker:

Don't let ignorant comments from a stranger bring you down. Obviously you are healthier than he is since you're there because you are an employee, not a patient.

^Wow I have to try this! Most mornings I have scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with jam.

You look wonderful. Congrats on your success! I usually fail at posting pics, but mine are in my profile.

Wow, awesome progress! You're doing great.

Sounds yummy! I love finding treats that you can find a way to make a little bit go a long way.

Fantastic progress! Keep up the great work, you're on the path to even more success.

I have a Polar FT 60 and I use those numbers for logging exercise. I eat back most or all of my calories burned and have consistently lost weight.

Of those choices, I'd go with the pancakes. Yum!

Don't know what your go-to snacks are, but I have lots of low-cal go-to snacks. Popcorn, Special K chips (1/2 serving is enough for me), sliced strawberries, or cottage cheese. Each at or under 100 calories. If you have a little more room in your calorie goal try some hummus with pita bread, bagel chips with whipped cream…

At the risk of getting flamed, I'd go with option A. The neighborhood kids didn't actually "steal" anything. Your daughter lost it. Granted, they didn't do the ethical thing by turning it in but it was left behind, not stolen. Hopefully your daughter will learn that she needs to be responsible for her belongings and if she…

I can absolutely relate. I'm learning what works for me and what I can sustain on the long term. I like to think I've been successful so far by not making drastic changes or trying to conform to anyone's ideals. I'm pretty good at staying within my calorie goal and staying active every day. I understand the negative…

A good friend tells you when you have spinach (or other food remnants) stuck in your teeth.

Wavy Gravy. Since they don't make it any more, I'd settle for Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream.

Dry foods/solids should be weighed, not measured. Liquids are measured. 1/2 cup = 8 oz is a liquid measure. Dry foods have different densities so a 1/2 cup of uncooked rice will not weigh the same as 1/2 cup bran flakes. There are a lot of entries that use volume, but I personally try to look for and use entries that are…
