  • Ditto. Saucony Pro Grid Hurricane Wide. I replaced the standard insoles with SuperFeet insoles. I have a narrow heel and I need a wide toebox. I also inner pronate on my right foot. Love 'em.
  • Megan beat me to it. I have practically similar workout schedules. I drop off my two year old at the daycare and my husband picks him up. In the meantime, I go straight from work to the gym and spend 1 hour, hour and a half working out. If my husband is not available to babysit then I either use the gym's kiddie care or…
  • Started September 28, 2010. It's been 7 weeks and somewhere in there were 2 weeks where I decided to drop my intake to 500-600 calories a day to see if I could lose weight faster. So that experiment crapped out because I did not shed a single pound for 2 weeks (me--> dork). So I'll say 5 weeks on the proper program. I'm…
  • I'm with her. Yes I'd weigh but not record it. I've gone up as high as +3 on some days, I'm afraid.
  • Man, I used to hate it with a passion. And I agree it is not for everyone. I had to get over the "hate" because I really wanted to sign up for runs, duathlons and triathlons and these events usually involve some form of running event. So I noticed that the first 5 - 10 minutes for me is hell on a stick. It does not matter…
  • Speaking from experience... About 4 weeks into the program, I decided to drop my daily calorie intake to 500-600 calories - not because I was doing an experiment but because I'm a dork. I mean, what does MFP know anyway? I can drop my intake and exercise more and I will finish my program earlier. Woo hoo! Yep, I plateaud.…
  • I normally buy Fage 0% and 2% but this is a cause worth changing a routine for. Thanks for the tip.
  • Welcome and thank you for plugging back into the Matrix. Great milestone!
  • Yes but interesting thing about yogurt that Mediterranean diets have known for years... just an fyi. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-eric-braverman/for-consistent-weight-los_b_161701.html
  • I snack at night but as a rule of thumb, I avoid snacking on carbs. Here's my list of snack items on standby: boiled eggs can of tuna nonfat plain yogurt nuts (almond, peanut, pistachio) smoked salmon with capers glass of soymilk edamame Hmmm, yogurt sounds good right about ... now. :)
  • Off by 3.5 lbs. Not too bad.
  • I like the plain rice cakes with Athenos hummus. 1 rice cake + half Tbsp hummus = 35 calories + 25 calories = 60 calories. I have 2 of these to curb the 3pm cravings at work.
  • Hi there! First off , congratulations on your choice to give up smoking. While I have no advice regarding time frame after quitting for body adjustment, I do have some questions re: your MFP experience. Have you been logging everything - I mean everything that you are eating? The same question for your exercise logs. I…
  • There's definitely a difference. Day 0 shows more of a bulge on the sides. Day 30 shows less of that. Are your jeans feeling loose at all? How are your measurements?
  • I hear ya! I went through the same dilemna a couple of years ago when I decided (begrudgingly) to start a running program. When I first started, I just used my old aerobics shoes that I used for turbo kickbox other gym classes. After a month of running 3x a week, I noticed pains on my left foot. A friend recommended…
  • I actually taught it for several years. I stopped when I was 8 months pregnant and never re-started. Funny how stopping TKB coincided with my weight gain. Hmmmm.... Your TKB experience will largely depend on your instructor. Some instructors are "danc-ey". Some instructors incorporate their martial arts background. Some…
  • It takes courage to admit that they are going through a rough patch, even greater courage to share it in a public forum like this. I am more than happy to share good vibes with you. If you need some NZ humor, try out some Flight of the Conchords music. They are always good for a laugh or two. Hang in there and keep smiling!
