I wish it were that easy, but it isn't. I ended up losing the freshman 15 at college the first year (from living on the third floor and no car). Just a tip - avoid the cafeteria and fast food. Cook your own food in your room with a hot pot or toaster oven. You can set weight loss goals, but they've got to be reasonable.…

I've yet to see any bashing. Adults are not carebears, sometimes they have not so polite opinions. Perhaps people are just taking things the wrong way?

Grapes, apples, bananas, salad with dressing on the side (they have little containers), pb&j on 50 calorie a slice bread, etc. Basically, anything that can be just thrown in a bag.

Losing weight in itself is a success. It has taken me a year to lose 19 pounds and keep them off. I consider that a good thing. In my opinion, weight that comes off slower is more likely to stay off. The fact that you've plateaued just means you are eating healthily, hence why you are not gaining. Don't give up. Just keep…

I already do 1, 2, and 5 (although I add the strength training exercises in I don't tend to count the minutes, only the reps). I'm going to aim for 4 (8 glasses of water). I'm going to up my daily abs from 40 reps to 50. @Terralea If you can find the proper names for the exercises online (bicep curl, lateral raise,…

I think of the things I've learned in documentaries like Forks over Knives and I realize that eating less and better is making a choice to be healthy and live a long and enjoyable life. I don't want diabetes, heart disease, or cancer (which I know isn't cause by weight but can be exacerbated by it). I want to look and feel…

I was 135 lb when i met my ex-husband. We both started to eat a lot and not exercise. I was up to 165 lb when I got pregnant with my daughter. I was over 210 lb when I was pregnant. So soda, eating out, piggy ex-husband, snack foods, and baby weight.... *voila*

I walked this morning pushing the LO (or not so little she is 37 lb). Then tonight I'll probably do a bike ride with her. Tomorrow, we'll probably walk to bike into town and/or the big beach.

I'm at 170 now, but this is me at 150 and 5'6".

I had gotten down to about 2 pounds heavier than I am now about 2 years ago (before I gained it all back when I had Lyme). My ex in-laws had taken this picture of me on the beach wearing some shorts and sitting down. It looked like the worlds most prominent muffin top. I cried. Mind you, it was the first time I had worn…

1200 a day is hard for me, but I do it. If I want to eat more, I exercise more. I think if you up your calories you'll simply just lose less every week. My fiance's calorie goal is 2200 a day. I am jealous!

6 months or so. Then about 7 months after that we'll be married :)

Yep, happens all the time to me. Part of it is that day to day life can be so hectic. I usually only remember to thank the gods when things are going well or cry out in a moment of need for some support.

Wow, awesome job!

5'6" and 170. I wear an American 10 or in some brands a 12 (mostly the younger ones).
-
Congrats! I had the same experience with my ex-husband and ballooned from 135 to 168 (pre-pregnancy weight) and then above 200 when I was preggers. My fiance now is so amazing and we are losing weight together, because he actually cares :)
-
That's great. You have way more self control than me. :flowerforyou:

I'm soo excited to see soo many practicers of Asatru! I'm 25, engaged to an awesome Danish guy (who is also Asatru), and due to have our marriage in December in Denmark. I've got a 3 year old from my first marriage. My starting weight was about 189 in May of last year. CW: 172 GW by wedding in December is 145 I've always…

I need motivation too! My wedding is pretty tiny, so not that much stress. I'm more stressed out by all the skinny Danish women that my fat American self is going to be compared to. I've got 27 pounds to go before my Christmastime wedding....
-
Our ceremony is in December, but our legal one is in September. The ceremony is the one to look good for, right? ;) I'm hoping to get down to 145 by then and am 172 now. That is about 27 pounds in 26 weeks. Eeek!
