In addition to the protein/fiber suggestions, and the possibility that you MAY want to up your calories slightly and lose weight a little slower to not be miserable (which are both good suggestions), you might also consider meal scheduling. It is common that folks suggest eating 5 or so smaller meals a day, but actually I…

I saw it. I'm intrigued but need to look into in more (I'm in Canada so I have to wait for it to become available here anyway). Hope you will let us know what you think of it Sammykatt. I thought she described it as 12 workouts and I wasn't sure if that meant 12 total or 12 per DVD. Price is good though.

Yeah! Congrats. Keep up the great work.

Great job!

I agree. The chia seeds "gel up" the milk. My own preference is: 40 g large flake oats (I've used quick oats before and the consistency comes out similarly, but the quick oats basically dissolve so they have a smoother texture. Either will work) .3 cups milk 50 g 2% Greek yogurt 1 Tbsp chia seeds Then add in fruit and PB…

Not stupid at all. All your hard work is paying off. Congrats!

I find the activities with an associated speed aren't too bad for estimated burn (running 5.2 mph or biking 10-12 mph, for example). But for general things like "elliptical" or an hour playing a particular sport, when there is no way to quantitatively determine your intensity relative to what the site assumes, they tend to…

Congrats and tell your Mom great photos. You look amazing and fingers crossed that your doctor's appointment works out the way you hope.

It's only half a year on here for me, but I think I made it count. -Stopped eating my daily sugar allotment for breakfast (I still miss you Raisin Bran). I'm fairly sure this is related to my skin clearing up significantly. -Am 15 pounds lighter than I've been since high school (and maybe before) and am wearing a size 10…

Amazing. Congrats on dropping the weight and on your engagement.

Great work. Congratulations!

Congrats on all your hard work. Definitely paid off. You look fantastic.

It's my birthday too! Happy co-birthday and congrats on all your hard work. You look fantastic.

Great job and best of luck with your health.

Thanks everyone. For workouts, I was already doing cardio about 5 times a week (I like a variety, so this included running, biking, ultimate Frisbee and HIIT/circuit-type workouts). With the exception of one longer endurance workout, I do mostly shorter but intense exercise (20 minutes or so). In mid-summer I got a little…

Yes, someone told me this, although I did defend my thesis around the same time I started losing weight, so I probably am a bit happier and less stressed. I do think people might use it as a euphemism though, since weight loss can be a sensitive topic with people. Just look around these boards to see that some people are…

Whaaaa?! That man is adorable. I don't know how I managed to feed myself before Youtube.

Oh my goodness THANK YOU. I am terrible at peeling eggs. This is like that time I found out if you hack the pit in an avocado hard enough with the knife and twist, it comes right out. Life-changing (no, I don't get out much. Why do you ask?)

Congratulations! So exciting. Good reminder for me that sometimes the scale doesn't move, but you are still making progress.

I like numbers too. The only reason I don't weigh myself daily is because the scale is at the gym, but if I'm there, I weigh. I like to know. In order to "smooth out" the noise, you can use a weighted averaging system like this: https://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/www/subsection1_4_1_0_1.html#SECTION0410100000000000000.…

Yes! I have been roasting broccoli in the oven since before MFP and have it with dinner once every week or two. Sometimes I crumple some bran flakes on top for extra crunch. Love it.
-
Love your arms! And the hair of course. I'm also 5'8" and my goal is 164 (c'moooon healthy BMI), lifting heavy twice a week for a couple of months now. I'm about 10 pounds away, so thanks for the inspiration.

If you are using the online site to log, are you making fuIl use of the "Quick Tools" options? For example, I eat almost the same breakfast every day, so I will usually just "Copy from date", pick the most recent one and then alter as needed (delete/add a different fruit usually). You can also use the "Remember Meal"…

Congrats on all your hard work. Amazing job. And thanks for the inspirational words.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of nutrition labels don't seem to list potassium and a lot of foods in the MFP database have it recorded as zero even though it may not be. Almonds have a fair bit of iron I think.

I don't really like mayo or onions, so I usually do: 1 can tuna 1 stalk celery or half a pepper 1 tbsp caesar salad dressing 2 tbsp mild salsa Put it on bread and melt some cheese on top. But if you have enough calories, you should make it whatever way you like it.
