  • Hello Leigh, From that further info, I would set you activity level to lightly active, then add in your exercise calories when you're better and back on the bike. See how that goes, and if you're not losing maybe drop the activity levels back to sedentary, which will decrease the calorie allowance. I'd try at a higher…
  • Maybe the icecream container's not looking so bad after all? Can you change your route/ wear a hat?
  • Ah, UK magpies.... They would get eaten alive by their Aussie counterparts! Here's a good site: http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2002/07/04/2588235.htm (I especially like the practical advice of wearing an icecream container on your head - trendy!) Best of luck avoiding them, I've had a few nasty scratches at Mum &…
  • *challenge It's already 11am, yet it's still too early for my brain to work!
  • Hello Diamonds! First change here so go easy on me! I have a friend who's in Little Diamonds so we'll have to kick their butts in order for me to look smug at Zumba! I have mini goals on my profile but will copy them here: 80kg - try on wedding dresses (failed that, but I had to go at 81.8kg when a friend was…
  • Hi all, I was away for the long weekend here in the UK, but this morning weighed in at 81.2kg. Be darned if I don't see 80-point-something at some point this week! I'm looking forward to seeing numbers starting with a 7 - not seen for about 5 years!!
  • Hi I'm Amanda and I'd like to join the Diamonds to have more accountability to myself and forge ahead with my weightloss. I have been on (and off!) MFP since October last year, and would love to be in tip top shape to rock my wedding dress next year, and to live life to the fullest. No more huffing and puffing up stairs.…
  • Hi Leigh, I'm from a physio background so I know you'll need extra calories to help you with the walking/ fidgeting etc, but it might be worth tracking your calories for a couple of weeks and seeing if you can get your GP to refer you to a dietitian? You don't want to eat not enough/ not the right things and make life more…
  • When I used to go to a proper gym, having one of the staff regularly do a fitness assessment and change my routine (every 6 weeks) helped a lot because I felt accountable to someone. Simple, but it worked for me. Good luck with your gym venture!
  • Mondays are cool for me - helps me stay on track for the weekends! This morning I was 81.9kg/ 180.4lbs (switched the scale over so I could see lbs as well). After trying on dresses last week and having to be strapped in to them like a rolled up pork joint I am feeling more motivated than ever! p.s. Why don't bridal shops…
  • Hi Emilie, Was it today you were going up Ben Nevis? You've had good weather if so. We went 3/4 of the way up Ben Lomond today before realising that we needed to be back in Edinburgh for a show and wouldn't have time to get all the way up and back. Lovely day for it. And some nice days coming up for your holiday. :) Amanda
  • Hi Monkeymin, I'm also turning 30 next March and looking for people to scrutinise/ motivate/ congratulate - have friend requested you. Amanda
  • Maybe I'll start *sneaking* in eggplant and see where it gets me. I forgot to say why I wanted to lose weight - other than health reasons, I don't want to feel self conscious on the one day in my life when I won't be able to hide from the camera. I want to be confident that I don't have to fret about my bingo wings, double…
  • Hello All! I'm getting married Sept 14 2012 and would love to be a part of this challenge group. CW 81.8kg GW 68kg (or thereabouts) Height 5'6" (Sorry, Australian so I have no idea about my weight in lbs, I think it's just under 30 to lose.) I have just booked my first dress shopping next Thursday and have no idea about…
  • I'll keep my fingers crossed for the weather for you - but it is summer in Scotland! :-) I've been informed by a more reliable source (hill-mad Scottish fiance) that the path is nice, but it is a good 3.5 hours to the top. I've found resting and sugary snacks help me with the descent, and if it's a well kept path you don't…
  • Hi! I live in Scotland and have climbed hills the last 3 weekends - not much in the way of training unfortunately. I would recommend lunges, squats and going up and down stairs. It has been my quads coming down the mountain that have had the hardest work to do. Make sure your shoes are comfy, you have lots of food to snack…
