Have to say cut out breakfast - well had cream in my coffee and my appetite has been much lower all day. I got hungrier earlier but was much less "snacks"!

Thanks for posting everyone. Odd how we are all different. I actually have my highest appetite first thing and mid afternoon and my lowest moods then too. Yvette have you kept your weight within healthy range? Do you drink coffee in the interim? Sarah I'm sorry you are up early too- it's really hard to resist cakes and…

But I am noticing it doesn't matter what I eat, if I eat at 6 am I'm feeling dizzy and lethargic by 11.30 and need more food by then to function. Saying that I'm afraid my discipline Nada and although I have cut down on coffee I haven't eliminated it completely. I'll get there! I'm hoping as the children grow up my early…

Thank you for replies. I have tried having a salmon sandwich for breakfast but still had the same issues. thanks for all the input too.

Hi weight loss thank you for the input but it isn't the breakfast kcal that are the issue it's my overall appetite. I am also unsure there isn't a rebound feeling from coffee at times, in that it an make my stomach roar but that could be all the milk. I think my usual breakfast has around 500 kcal inclusive of the skimmed…

Yes there is a lot of milk ! Skimmed though. Breakfast is usually healthy porridge!

Well this am I just had a coffee but kept it to one and a small square of chocolate (!) and now just as hungry as I would have been with a full on amount as I have had previously... will watch this space.

Thanks for posting. It's interesting your reponse is similar to mine/ increased appetite. I actually think this is a great strategy.

125ml said she never up having about 320 of skimmed milk.

4 legs, do you eat brekkie then? just mid- am? It's such a shame with something there aren't a cut and fast rule, I try and do what I'm told and it doesn't work for me!
-
Interesting, it's definitely not dehydration in my case! I think I get the slump an hour after, by four hours I'm am getting very, very sleepy. I didn't used to be like this, did you find it was an age thing too GaleHawkins

Quiksysylver that's exactly what I was thinking today, it doesn't matter whether I eat early (like you I'm up very early not quite 05.00 though, respect) or not, I am still hungry and sluggish by mid am. I just generally notice my craving for food (rather than hunger) is more stimulated by breakfast but maybe that's…

This is also interesting because I was overweight as a teenager (for a short period) and I used to skip breakfast... however there was a large McDonalds milkshake (yuk is all I can think now) around 10.30am I seem to remember so that can't have helped.
-
Yes it's tricky, I appreciate my appetite and weak will is also to blame :-) but I have definitely noticed weight loss in periods whereby I have gone without (but maybe other variables..)
-
Ah that's so interesting thank you for sharing! I really wonder if it's the way to go for me...

You see I'm wondering if coffee is making me more sleepy, it never used to, but I feel a slump an hour afterwards- maybe I'm just weird!

Coffee with skimmed milk GaleH

Hi, I find my best weight loss is huge salad for lunch and more of a carb supper (meal and dessert). I find this curbs my insatiable appetite. I quite often wake up and have coffee and a few squares of dark chocolate - yet have had weight loss. I don't actually count all the kcal but I a lot of weight on 1200 kcal but my…

Thank you so much for your honest response. I am so glad sunny you have been able to self reflect, identify and combat the overeating. This morning, after little sleep, I felt I could eat the world... had just under 2000 kcal over a period of two hours, but somehow stopped and logged it all. Like you say, eat what I want…

my husband looks on with amazement, he has o force himself to have a slice of the seeded stuff as he sees it as healthy....as do I , but what it is it that makes me want to eat the lot... it's worse than chocolate! We are all different I guess. Thank you for all sharing it made me feel so much better I'm not a bread eating…

Thank you!! Now this is interesting because I like volume with food too and every day I have over eaten I have also early on in the day, but then whose to say I wouldn't have anyway...

kshama what I have tried Medication to help with low mood- I thought initially it helped, b=now tiredness seems back to what it was but doctor suggested taking it only at certain times in the month. Protein- I've increased but I'm still overeating on the proteins (!) and I am mad, I go for a few days involved in work etc…

Thank you for your response. I really like your approach of just try a bit better rather than abolish... I thought silly things like making it positive, for example, eat more vegetables - I like food, so this helps. I now have a cold and wonder if that wasn't helping, but I really have to say this is going to be an uphill…

Thank you!! I'm sorry I hadn't replied. I couldn't face eggs but honestly I can overeat on anything, I brought some sugar free protein bars and they are better but still I could eat more than one given half the chance. I can't bring myself to have protein powder in the coffee, a smoothie maybe but lumps in coffee.... I am…

Inspiring post, and honest too. I have to say it is hard, life seems a lot easier when I am not hungry and and my mood better when shoving carbs down my mouth at every opportunity- who doesn't want to have some chocolate when you wake at a ridiculously early hour and have a hard day at work lined up. I do get low mood and…

I am fortunate to like vegetables (unfortunate that I like all food a bit too much! I used to sing with happiness when I was weaned apparently). I haven't battled bingeing completely - aa different story. l still like pizza, chocolate etc and have it nearly every day but I have a smaller portion and fill my plate sky high…

I have only just caught up with the respite responses here! Thank you. Definitel food for thought and will respond later, thanks so much again!!

In fear of getting a lot of flack for posting this, although I would't do slim fast, I do know of some that it has just provided a kickstart to losing weight which has provided the motivation to continue with following a healthier lifestyle plan. So although not a long term fix it may provided an introduction to a…

Thank you for replying jeepster. How are you now? If you are better, how did you recover?
