First of all, congratulations for making a healthy choice, and for reaching out to the MFP community for support. I started my weight loss journey in May, and discovered MFP in June. I would not be as successful as I've been without the wisdom and support I have found on this site. There are two very valuable tools I…

Nonsense. Utter nonsense. I'm not a teenager anymore. The only person I need to impress is myself. My energies are directed to volunteering and serving my community locally and globally. I'm not going to pretty myself up hoping some superficial guy will notice me. Seriously, I have far better things to do. Utter…

The worst kind of lonely is not being alone. It is feeling alone with someone laying beside you. AND Never cry over a man unless you're burying him. And only then out of duty.

Ice cold orange juice seemed to do it for me. I would just slam back half a glass. I'm not sure why it worked, but it seemed to freeze the craving right out of me.

I also live on my own. I do not weight myself at home. I have to be at my Doctors office three days a week, so on Mondays I have the Nurse do my weigh-in. This way, I know that my weight is accurate and I am held accountable. Feel free to add me.

What you want is negotiable, what you need is not. If you are willing to give up what you need to get healthy then you have bigger issues then getting to a healthy weight. There could be a lot of reasons why your partner is having the reaction that he is. You won't know until you have a heart to heart. BUT, that you are…

What concerns me is your statement, "now I am thinking maybe I should stop using it". Why would you stop doing something that is good for you because your partner disapproves?

^^^What she said.^^^ The OP came to a safe place to vent her frustration. Thats exactly what she should do.

Great Advice! That would work for me. I like the idea of taking ownership of my misstep over a couple of days. It would make me less likely to do it again.

LMFAO! You had me at "harp seal".

I have B12 deficiency and am injected with 2000mcg three times a week. Yep, you read that right.... 6000mcg each and every week, for years. If anybody is looking to B12 as a quick fix for weight loss you are wasting your time. I didn't start to lose weight until I took responsiblity for what I was eating and stopped my…

I am in my extremely late 40's (51). I started my weight loss journey May 26 2012, and discovered MFP about a month later. I'm not sure if its because I have the right attitude, or I have finally struck the right balance, or its the miracle of MFP, but the weight seems to be coming off almost effortlessly. I am…

Well done! Your attitude is positive and not only do your look slimmer, but, you look healthy. I look forward to reading your updates.

Well said! This is one of the best posts I have read on MFP. It's like we were told as kids..... do the math! 3500 calories is equal to a pound of fat (according to the Mayo Clinic http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/calories/WT00011/). If I want to lose a pound of fat I need to adjust my diet and exercise to earn that…

If I'm going to log every single calorie I put into my mouth, I feel free to log every single calories I burn. I don't count calories burned towards my 1270 calorie limit. I count them as an extra push towards my goal. We are here to encourage others, not judge them. Well, at least thats how it should be.

I wasn't impressed with any of the Dukan apps. That is why I turned to the myfitnesspal app, which I LOVE!

When I come across posts with what I perceive as unrealistic or dangerous goals, I remind myself that this person isn't me, and isn't who I should mirror my goals after. There are people with eating disorders that really believe what they are posting. There are people that will post such things as a means to get attention,…
