I totally agree with this. I used to be just a "calorie goal" lady, and sometimes I am still (when I'm visiting family, I don't pay attention much to macros) but now I watch my macros and try to do the "standard" 50/30/20. I will eat back only a portion of my calories if I'm hungry enough/my macros allow for it. However, I have a heart rate monitor (Polar FT4) so I know exactly how many cals I burn and don't have to rely on the wild estimates of MFP or the elliptical.
