  • Coincidentally enough, my first was the Scorpions in 1991. Last: Weird Al Yankovic (I've seen him in concert four times!) in 2011.
  • Weigh every day and log when I hit a new low that sticks for a few days. I'm up and down quite a bit, and it's really interesting to see.
  • Echoiing the beans and rice idea. It's a complete protein, and if you put it with some in-season vegetables (you can generally find some cheap, or if you have family/friends that have gardens you might be able to score some for free) that should hold you until your cash flow is in better shape.
  • Yes, there really is a difference. And I could tell before I opened the picture that it is in your head, just from what you titled it. If you call yourself fat, then you will see yourself that way. I would have guessed at least 25lbs just from the pictures - you've obviously done some work to tone up.
  • Dude, that is all kinds of awesome. Congratulations on an amazing achievement! Glad to hear the skin was minimal. I am 11 years older than you, so I'm probably going to have more, but I'm hoping that if I do toning as I go then it won't be too bad.
  • American here, but I get my bras from the UK, as it is nearly impossible to find my size here. I have a Shock Absorber that I got from BraStop (they are a UK company, but ship to the US for free!) I paid about 25 GBP for mine, and I love that thing.
  • I am 5'10" and have never been thin, so I'm not really sure what my UGW is. I've put 160 because that meant an even 100lbs I needed to lose, but my doctor and I have discussed it and she says that we will look at how I'm doing once I get under 200 and we'll set a goal weight together at that time. She thinks it will…
  • My in-laws were visiting our house from cross-country. We're all sitting at the dining room table and I felt the chair shift under me and felt like I was going to fall. I jumped up and looked at it, and one of the braces between the legs had broken...so I broke the chair. They were all great about it - MIL said "Oh, this…
  • I know the feeling! A few weeks ago my partner and I went on a "moderate" hike of 2.5 miles at Mt. Rainier. The description said it was only a 700 foot change in elevation. What they didn't mention was that was the net change and the trail went up and down and up and down, so you end up climbing over 1200 feet total. I…
  • I eat between 1900-2500 depending on how much I'm exercising. I do eat those exercise calories, as I'm finding I get cranky if I don't. This may change down the line as I'm only a few weeks in, but I'm losing a little more than a pound a week and I'm happy with that.
  • It's water retention, as others have said. I gained 3lbs the day after I started working out, and it took several days to flush that out of my system. Oh, and one day of netting low calories isn't a big deal (at least, that's what my doctor told me when I talked to her about the day I went on a mountain hike and burned…
  • 41 here, will be 42 in September. Feel free to add me!
  • Hi Jessika, I also have about 100 to lose. The fact that you are not giving up is awesome! Feel free to add me. L
  • Do you have any other caffeine source? If you don't, then you want to step down. That caffeine withdrawal headache will kill you. Last time I tried to go off caffeine I lasted three days through the headache before I gave up. If you drink other caffeinated drinks, though (coffee, tea) then the headache is less of a problem…
