MFP has a recipe builder function too. When you're adding foods to meals, click on 'recipe' on the far right and 'add new'. Then you add the name and servings, then the ingredients. It will tell you how many calories per serving there are.

I did it for a while. But I couldnt afford the gluten free products (that tasted like crap anyways) and wheat replacements are very expensive and only sold in tiny packages, so it was impossible for me to maintain. I didnt lose any weight and I was grumpy all the time.

You need to make your diary public if you want anyone to look at it

Just wondering what you mean? I weigh my pasta dry, and it'll make a little more than twice the amount (my pasta package doesnt give calories for cooked) so I just use the dry measure/calories.

Its really not difficult. You create the new recipe, put in your ingredients and the weights, put in how many servings it makes, put in how many servings you ate. Easy peasy.

This has happened to me, and I think about it every time I'm out walking. Wondering how many people see me as a 'fat lady', not realizing where I've been or what journey I'm on and how hard I've worked to get here. I also wonder about those people and how much they must dislike themselves to say mean things to others. I…

This is why I'm very lucky to live in a metric country. Our tuna has a weight with water/oil, and a weight without (if you drain it properly).

I live in the Netherlands :)

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy it for those of us overseas (expatriates) and unable to eat a proper Thanksgiving dinner because they dont have most of the ingredients in my piddly corner of Europe. Dreaming of stuffing and pumpkin pie.

I know what you mean. I get the same thing with cookie dough. I still eat some, but not as much, and although I'm happy I dont feel sick after making cookies (I mean...eating the dough and making a cookie), I still geel grumpy and pout for a while because I force myself to stop.

Try something low-key and enjoyable, like swimming, walking or biking at a normal pace. Think of it as resting, a time-out, and just focus on breathing (like meditating). In fact, I recommend meditating as well, to help you manage your stress. Dont forget that stress --> cortisol --> no weight loss.

Saying someone doesnt look their weight is different than saying someone isnt fat. I'm guessing that was in answer to being told your weight, so if you dont want to hear 'phony' compliments (are you even sure they are?), dont tell people how much you weigh.

Try it for a month and see what happens. I'm losing weight because I upped my calories so I know its possible.

I put on a rain jacket and walk in the rain. I have a Labrador that needs a lot of exercise so I cant flake out if its wet out. I walk her for an hour or two daily, rain or shine or -20 with ice on the ground.

I recently started counting my steps too. Just shy of 10,000 in an hour of walking my dog. Its pretty amazing how far we can walk and not really notice it!

I live to eat. I live in the south in the Netherlands, and the culture/lifestyle is very 'Bourgodisch', which translates to pleasure and relaxation--good food, good beer/wine, good time. I have no intention of giving this up because I'm losing weight. Just that I need to be able to gauge how much to enjoy myself without…

I've always had the same level of fitness, but since I passed 30, I've become a lightweight. One glass of wine is good enough for me! I used to be able to drink a bottle of rum.

I weigh it raw, since the package only gives calories raw. I cook for my family and usually use it in a combination, so its impossible to weigh afterwards. I'm fairly sure all of my meat calories are overestimated.

Since I was about 16, so 16 years.

How many calories are you eating? What are you eating? Have you changed your diet drastically, like cut out food groups, eat minimal carbs or fat, etc? It could be that you've changed too much, and that is hard for most people to maintain. Try fitting what you LIKE (including ice cream) into your weekly caloric intake.…

I would only change if I gain, if the average trend is moving upwards.

Its pretty normal. I've experienced it for the past 20 years. What helps me is eating fibre, drinking coffee, lots of water, walking (also helps with cramps), yoga or just stretching (stretching lower back--cow and cat works best), squats, taking a hot bath, and cutting down on food triggers (for me, its dairy).

Yes, you can. But just because cross country is ending doesnt mean you have to stop exercising. Is it possible to get outside everyday and walk or run for at least 30 mins? Its easy and free.

An apple and a bowl of greek yoghurt with honey.

Unless you do it everyday, it wont make a dent in your deficit.

I get ads for health holidays in Turkey, holidays in general, and now a clinical research study for diabetes. I never google those topics.

I didnt eat any more than usual while pregnant and still gained 8kg. Just eat a normal amount of food, and eat when you're hungry. Dont try to lose weight until after you give birth.

My one year old eats more than you. Eat more. Its as easy as that.
