I came to the forums after not using them for quite a while, searching for help or inspiration for my plateau and found this post. Thank you for your story and inspiration! I am a jackrabbit learning to be a tortoise. I lost 50lbs already, although I was 175lbs and it was easy. Now I'm at a plateau and I'm trying to break…

Well, you could have ONE treat, right? Also, try not to let your blood sugar get out of control. Eat frequently and healthily before you enter that panic eating mode (I do it too, then I eat all my toddler's raisins or something)

Lookin good!

Quite simply, MFP's calorie recommendation is the amount of calories you should eat without added exercise (if that's the count you chose). You need to eat them back, because you're burning more calories. HOW much is always up for debate. Some people eat all of them, some people only eat half.

At that weight, you're already at a healthy weight. Why not just focus on firming up, and not focus on the number on the scale?
-
Not even knowing your stats, if you exercise that much and only eat 1400 calories, you're not eating enough.

If 7 pm is an early dinner, I've been doing this all wrong! Eat what you like, when you like, and to lose weight, eat within your calorie limit. There's no special trick to it.

I just finished eating from a cheese/meat platter--prosciutto and parmesan with melba toast. Yum! If you have the calories, have your snack.
-
I had a 7-grain hot cereal with honey, and coffee. I dont exercise after breakfast; I do that in the afternoon/evening.

You can edit your starting weight. I've done it. Go to My Home, Check In, Edit previous entries. Then edit your starting weight, press save.

I eat what I'm hungry for. Traditional breakfast foods, sometimes lunch or dinner leftovers. Sometimes just coffee.

During the holiday season (for me, 5 birthday parties, 3 Christmas parties, 2 New Years Eve and Day parties), I 'gained' 4 kilos (just about 9 lbs). After I was done celebrating, I drank tons of water and went on a few long walks with my dog and I lost those 4kg in 2 days. Because it's just water weight. Unless you ate…

It really depends on your height/weight ratio and exercise level, as well as how much you have to lose. If you have 50kg to lose, you can swing the 1kg per week deficit. If you only need to lose 20kg or something, it should be at a slower pace (.25-.5kg per week deficit). If you are anything other than sedentary, you need…

Nope. Mfp will be there for me tomorrow. Happy new year everyone!

Ah ok! Phew, I got a bit worried for you

Have a chat with your midwife/obgyn and get a referral to see a dietician. Also, get moving! When I got pregnant, I was 117kg. By 42 weeks, I was 128kg. I gained it all in the third trimester. I ate a good variety of whole foods every day, didnt use my pregnancy as an excuse to eat junk food (the baby doesnt NEED it), and…

I started at 125kg in august and am 108kg now. It started slowing down from the initial speed I was so happy with. You may need to reevaluate your time goal or be prepared for disappointment.

Corset, or full-torso/to the thigh corrective underwear. I wear a corset and corrective pantyhose under my dresses.

Wait, what? Who says 80% of your TDEE, ever? The max recommendation I've ever seen is 20%, unless you're extremely obese then maybe 25/30% but good god, 80%?? Tothe OP, Yes, 1200 is too low. How tall are you, how much do you weight, what is your age, and how active are you?

I have to pre-log. It helps me see the combinations of foods I can eat to come to my macro and calorie allowance. Also helps me see what kind of leeway I have with snacks and drinks with calories. I can't imagine what kind of time I would have if I added the calories after I actually ate them.

Its a bit extreme to be antisocial just because you're on a diet. But I think that's the problem. You're on a diet. You're not making this part of your lifestyle, that's for sure. Go with your family, enjoy their company, enjoy the food that you eat. Doesn't mean gorge on everything you see, but trust the skills you've…

This Christmas, I gained and lost 5 pounds. Water weight and constipation.
-
About 1400 for the food incl dessert, but in the true spirit of Christmas, I was humiliated (received 0 presents) and blamed, so the rest was alcohol calories.
-
152, if my math is right. Thats a lot of butter!
-
Thank you everyone, it's been an interesting journey so far!
-
You look great OP! Very well done!
-
I'll try to log it as best I can. The wine, the dessert, the bread. The intricate dishes are another thing. I don't know the precise recipes my MIL uses. It's a sit down affair, though, so one meal won't be going over my daily calories (and I only ever eat dinner on Christmas).

I have huge hands. Man hands. Anyways, I've lost almost 40 lbs and my rings fit worse than they did before. Most days, I can't get them over my knuckle.

From memory? Pre-puberty. That's when it all went wrong. From pictures compared to how I am now? I looked pretty good when I was 23. I looked better when I was 16.

I don't avoid food events. I like to plan too, but I also like being sociable and enjoying myself with friends. That means being comfortable with my knowledge of calories and portions and learning a bit of self-control to be able to participate as well when others are eating. So go and load up at the veggie tray, enjoy a…
