I have 1-2 drinks mostly every evening. It helps with the stress from work and life. Its my time to relax and I really enjoy it. I make sure it fits into my macros. I will usually have beer (sometimes light, sometimes not) or captain and diet.

Congrats on starting to run! Its the best workout and if you hit the road, its FREE! No gym required. FYI 5k = 3.1 miles 10k = 6.2 miles 1/2 marathon = 13.1 miles Marathon = 26.2 miles I am just about at the 1/2 marathon mark. I've been running for years. Although I recently actually called myself a runner. To me, it takes…

I'm training for a 1/2 in December. Currently running 9 miles. I run 4 times a week Tues/Thurs 4-6 miles and on weekends are my long runs. Right now I am up to 9 miles and increasing every week by 1/2 to 1 mile.

Wow! That is messed up! Luckily they didn't take the dog. Great Danes are scarce! I'm sure they wanted to make $$. Lets see if in a few months anyone will try and take it then lol!

I'm 4'11" and currently weigh 116. Goal is pretty much there 113-115 to maintain.
-
Yes your right, my calorie burn for strength training is nowhere near my cardio burns.
-
Why not? I use mine for both cardio & strength. The trick is to constantly check your HR because it goes up and down. Mine is consistent always with all my workouts!

SHIN SPLINTS are a nightmare. I am a victim. I've been a runner for years. I use to get shin splints to the point that walking hurt. They were always sore. As I increased mileage, forget it, I was in pain. Overtime, it went away. I'm training for a 1/2 maratthon now so they do get tender but not painful. Some things that…

I haven't invested in a gym for years! Who needs all that fancy crap when you can get the same results at home with your own weight. Plus I hate sharing! I invested in a treadmill, weights 5-25lbs, a bench & bar and a pull up bar. All of these workouts sculpt your body! Pushups Pullups squats lunges deadlifts bench as much…

I think your fine. Some people sweat more then others. For a girl, I sweat like crazy. I can come back from a long distance run and look like I was running in the rain. And I usually start sweating on the 2nd lap of the first mile lol. I sweat so much that I have to be careful what sport bars I wear cause the sweat will…

Same here 4"11 was 140 at one point (gorda!) now I am at 116 after doing Insanity, P90X and running. My goal is 110-115 for my height. trying to loose body fat now. The scale hasn't moved in 2 weeks. UGH!
-
All the above you mentioned! I went to the gym for years and finally said "F**K this lol. I am also antisocial when it comes to working out. I like to workout alone and without distractions. I decided to create my own home gym. In my garage I have a treadmill, I also am a long distance runner so all I need is the road…

I'm on round 3 of Insanity just started this week. I have gotten amazing results. I do the Insanity workout faithfully per schedule and I do P90X 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) for strength. I also do either cardio abs or ab ripper on those days as well. P90X is amazing for strength training, not cardio (for me). When I id…

500 calories is not high for a 45 minute workout. It all depends on what you are doing. I can burn 800 - 900 in 45 minutes running at 8-10 MPH for a 5 mile run. Or doing a high impact Insanity workout. This is based on my HRM of course which is consistent with every workout and kicking *kitten* on my workout.
-
Make sure you keep checking your actual HR throughout the workout. It goes up and down and if you keep it the whole time when its high then the monitor will show more calories burned.

Good Beer! I LOVE BEER! Now I stick to the light beer...Amstel light, Miller light its only 95 calories and 5 grams of carbs each. Everything else in moderation. Oh and anything processed! But I am happy about that.

I have a smoothie pretty much every morning. I use the 3:1 ratio. 3 veggies for every fruit kale, spinach, brocolli, carrot, cucumber strawberries, blueberries, 1/2 banana, apple, honeydew, mango I add vanilla protein powder, chia seeds and flax seeds Usually I mix with 8 ounces of water or 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk…

Awesome post!

You should def try and get a HRM. You will be surprised that Insanity will burn as many calories as running. I do both! I am on round 2 of Insanity and I run every other day. I'm currently 120lbs and I average between 1200 - 1500. I should be eating closer to 2000 which I rarely do. I eat mini meals as well but never feel…
-
I need tips too. I'm the same. I consume 1200 - 1500 calories a day and burn alot of it. I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I eat pretty healthy and I'm never really hungry.
-
ASICS...I don't wear any other shoes. They are expensive but they are so worth it. For running especially and for all the jumping and plyo moves, I love them.

I do Insanity every am before work. For month 1 the DVDs are max 45minutes, however in month two some are up to 1 hour. I do the entire DVD from start to finish. I do not skip on the warmup or cool down. I dont pause the DVDs ever, I just go straight through so however long the DVD is, is as long as I will go.
