  • I drink pretty regularly, and I still lose weight. I just try to combine drinking with exercise. Usually once a week I bike an hour to a brewery, have a few pints, and bike back. I figure I'm working it off that way. I also commute to work by bike, 12 miles each way, so I figure I have room for a few pints now and then.…
  • I have a Yakima Bike Rack on my Prius, and it is super sturdy. Enter your vehicle info into the website and it will recommend a rack. http://www.yakima.com/fit/Information
  • Wow, what is with the irrational Michigan hate? I've been to Asheville, which is our twin beer city, and while it was nice, there was not as much to do there as here in Michigan. Blue Ridge Parkway is pretty, but the Rocky Mountains out west are far superior in my humble opinion.
  • I'm partial to my home state of Michigan, because I think the Great Lakes are beautiful, and something to be experienced. However, my favorite road trips have always been out west - Utah is probably my favorite place as far as natural beauty goes. Moab is the outdoor adventurer hub, where you can visit lots of cool places.…
  • I love craft beer, so I just find ways to work it into my diet. I ride my bike everywhere. (To work, breweries, social events, etc... so I figure I've earned it when I sit down for a beer  ) I cut it out on days when I know I haven't been active enough to allow the extra calories.
  • I'm a huge ice cream fiend, but I have found a tasty replacement. I just freeze ripe bananas, then throw them in a food processor, add flavoring of my choice, and enjoy delicious "ice cream." Or I make smoothies with frozen strawberries, add a little coconut or almond milk, and I feel like I'm drinking a milk shake.
  • Hey guys, glad to see something beer related on the fitness forums! I'm Sarah, and I live in Beer City (Grand Rapids) Michigan. Monk clubber at Brewery Vivant. My boyfriend and I home brew frequently, and recently upgraded from kits to all grain. Have our first batch of Mead aging right now too. (Oh, but a long wait yet…

  • I'm 5'2 and started at 166, though I'm down to 152 now. Feel free to friend.
  • I'm working towards it. I haven't cut out meat completely, but most of my diet is plant based, and I've been working on cutting out dairy. (Though I haven't cut out eggs yet, and I limit cheese to maybe once a week) I do have a formerly vegan friend who just turned to eating fish and eggs, because she had a bad fall and…
  • I only recently got a gym membership, and only use it when I can't get outside and on my bike. I find working out in a gym horribly boring. Though I live in a medium sized city and not the country, I get most of my exercise from cycling. (Commuting to work, hitting up local mountain bike trails, etc..) Enjoy the outdoors!
  • For all my bike rides, I use endomondo, because you can set it to automatically link your workouts to here. While I'm not sure how accurately it measures riding in snow (because it logs it as a leisurely ride when I ride so slow ) it at least gives you somewhat of an idea of how many calories you burned.
