I am 30 (turning 31 in January). I am a professional dog groomer and love my job most days. My interests are pole dancing, horses, and reading. I am married to a wonderful man and we have one 3 year old son who keeps me on my toes. I've never been much of a "homemaker" and would like to work on cooking healthy delicious…

Firm believer in only eat what you raise (or hubby brings home from the hunts). Then you know what went into it, how it was killed, and how it was processed. Then when everyone on the news is eating poo turkey you can laugh at them.

Sadly every scale weighs differently depending on the scale type and the ground it is sitting on. I can move my scale around the house to five different locations and get 5 different readings. However, if I weight in the same place 5 times, the scale is the same every time. Like others have said. Don't get too hung up on…

My key to running is two fold. Part one is a great playlist. I do not love running but some good music can get me pumped up. The second is to run through the pain. It seems like there is a point when your legs want to quit and you think you can't keep going (for me it's usually in the first mile) but if I run through it I…

Dove dark chocolate. On square after lunch and dinner. It is enough to satisfy my craving but not enough to send me into a binge.

The best thing about a slow cooker is you don't need a recipe. Just throw in whatever sounds good to you and turn the thing on. Yesterday I threw in a beef roast (fat trimmed off), some baby red potatoes, carrots, water, and a can of condensed veggie beef soup. 6 hours later I had a pot of deliciousness. Chicken? Throw in…

Looking good! Grow the facial hair back ;)

This. But I use half the amount of chocolate powder in mine just because I like it better that way.

Nope. Plump means fat. Not curvy. After asking hubby he said curvy is an hour glass shape.

Good idea. Quitting is totally the way to go.

I made huge changes to my diet. Not to be "on a diet" but because, along with loosing weight, I wanted to live a more healthy life all around. I guess a lot of people on here always ate healthy but not me. I ate more like the OP it seems. Actually I didn't drink much soda until after I got married. Hubby's family is…

The best time for me is whenever I can squeeze it into my day. If I had to workout at the same time each day I would never get it done. Do what feels good and works for you. Sometimes I'll do crunches and pushups in the bed of my truck while waiting for my son to get out of preschool. Gotta fit them in sometime...

Thanks for the advice guys. Headed over to SL5x5 to check it out right now. I don't have any female friends who lift but lots of guys at the department do do I can get proper form tips from them. I'll let you know how it goes. Now if our rec-center had a gym so I didn't have to get a separate membership...

I weigh and measure. I got an inexpensive food scale from amazon and it was a great use of $10. Takes all the guess work out of it. If I'm being honest with myself I count every single calorie. Even that piece of hard candy I find in my sons car seat and eat because the sugar is calling me. Eeww right? We've all got ours...

What don't you do with Nutella?? Or Cookie Butter for that matter.

Skip the cotton candy grapes and roll regular (green) grapes in watermelon jello powder. Yum.

Wow, our school menus are nothing like that. Gone are the deep fried/fatty foods and highly processed foods. Fresh fruit every day, low sodium, whole grain breads. Still not as good as packing your own lunch but I was impressed with it.

extra 1/2 hour workout today and enjoy your mocha!

I use a measuring cup and scoop it out into another container. Just to make life easy I put one scoop as a serving. You can actually eat more or less than that but it just makes it easier to calculate.

Rainbow Chip frosting. Yup.

So it took me a while to understand that you don't have to have "breakfast" foods for breakfast. I eat whatever sounds good. BLT lettuce wrap, turkey jerky and some fruit, steak, grilled chicken and veggies. Food is food, you don't have to eat certain foods for certain meals. Once I figured that out eating higher protein…

Chocolate Banana: 1/2 banana frozen 1 c almond milk 1 packet chocolate carnation instant breakfast OR 1 scoop chocolate protein powder. Green Smoothie: 1/2 c Slik fruit and protein (mango or berry) 1/2 banana 4 frozen strawberries 1 single serving container of any kind of yogurt, frozen 1 c baby greens I've added protein…

Sorry for the double post but I had to respond to this. This ^^ is why I raise and kill my own. If you put a bullet in the right spot a cow goes from chewing it's cud in the grassy pasture on a sunny day to dead in less than 1/2 a second. I've never had a cow that struggled or had to be shot a second time. Sounds bad but…

I'm an animal lover. But I also love the way they taste. So I figured I needed to find a happy medium. Lucky for me I live in an area where I can raise my own animals. Now I don't eat any meat I didn't raise. That way I know what it ate, how it lived, and how it was killed. At first I couldn't stand the though of killing…

Yup, day is shot for sure. Not just your day but your whole weight loss journey. You'll prob gain 12lbs by nightfall. Just surrender to being overweight and you'll be happier.

Dilly beans, baby carrots with a little sweetener and dill, goes great on chicken, greek yogurt with dill and a little lemon for veggie dip. I have a love affair with dill.

Thanks for the great ideas guys. Keep 'em coming. I had forgotten about freezing them. Guess that would make up for when the stop laying during our cold winters. So far I've done hard boiled, deviled, egg salad, chili rellenos, breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwhich, and trying to resist baking things I'll just sit and eat…

I have a friend who is on all kinds of assistance. She gets WAY more money from the government for food each month than I spend. All she buys are prepared foods. Frozen pizzas, burritos, corn dogs, chips, TV dinners, etc. These things cost a ton and are terrible for you but she gets plenty of assistance money to pay for…
