  • Try getting a heartrate monitor. That will be more accurate for calories burned than the machines that calculate weight and age. Also - I try not to eat back the calories I burn everytime I work out. If you try to eat 1200-1300, even if you still burn 300 (so that would be a net of 900-1000 calories (even though you took…
  • I think today's number would have been smaller, but I ate bad over the weekend. :( Starting weight (July 16): 203 1st week weight (July 23): 200 2nd week weight (July 30): 198 3rd week weight (August 6): 197 4th week weight (August 13): 196 5th week weight (August 20): 6th week weight (August 27): Total Weight lost: 7
  • Congrats!!!! I'm right there with you. I joined at the end of June but didn't really use it until after July 4th. I have lost 9.3 pounds according to the scale this morning. No before and after pics for me, but I can already notice the difference. I can't wait for the next 4-5 weeks to hopefully lose another 10! Keep it…
  • 1. I like what someone else wrote - to be able to cross my legs again without it being a struggle! Right now it's a struggle! 2. I also want to fit into smaller jeans in my closet, then to start buying some brand new ones soon! For once I'm actually looking forward to fall because in another 5 weeks I am hoping to be 7-10…
  • It's still good and healthy way for the weight to come off. That's less than 1 pound a week - when 2 pounds a week is healthy also, so in 13 weeks you could have lost 26 pounds. I have lost about 6 pounds in 6 weeks so I'm right there with you - but I am really trying to change it to 12 pounds in another 6 weeks. 1400…
  • Cant wait to post next week - the scale is finally starting to move!!!!

  • Thanks - that makes sense. Yeah we have been considering buying a heart rate monitor very soon - any opinion on ones that sync up to iphones? We are holding out for the new iphone 5, so maybe we should wait.

  • I couldn't participate last week because of VBS every night last week at church - so this is my first time logging for the full week, I've set a goal of 3500 calories burned this week, but just posting for the first time. Weekly Goal: 3500 Mon: 628 calories burned, walking on treadmill, uphill Tues: 404 calories burned,…
  • I do TODAY what you won't - So TOMORROW, I can do what you can't!
  • YOU LOOK AWESOME! Way to go!
  • Starting weight (July 16): 203 1st week weight (July 23): 200 2nd week weight (July 30): 198 3rd week weight (August 6): 4th week weight (August 13): 5th week weight (August 20): 6th week weight (August 27): Total Weight lost: 5
  • One of the trainers at my gym took my measurements around the 4th of July! I will have her check them again and compare! Good idea.
  • Way to go! You look great!
  • That's awesome! Tell me how you lost your first 25 pounds in 2 1/2 months. What exactly did you do? I may be expecting too much at first, but I started first with exercising 3 times a week, and not changing my eating at first. Then I started changing my eating habits about the 4th of July. By July 12th, I had lost 5…
  • I'm up for the challenge! I am going to go ahead and list my stats from last week since I logged them all - so hopefully some results will start to show up soon on my body! Weekly Goal: 7/17 Tues: 544 walking on treadmill - uphill for 60 minutes 7/18 Wed: 50 calories walking on lunch hour - it started to rain, didn't get…
  • Get yourself a 24 oz. water bottle with a straw - you tend to drink more out of a straw. Make it a goal to fill it 3 times a day. That's 9 cups of water. It helps me that my office has a water coolor - with water that tastes really good. A coworker and I even made a game to empty the big water coolor jug by the end of the…
  • Ok, thanks guys! I'll increase with some healthy food too! :) So just to clarify though, does my NET calorie intake need to be 1600 (after I include working out) or can I eat 1600 calories, but exercise and burn 400, with a NET calorie intake of 1200.
  • Sorry DanaDark - spelt your name wrong. Anyways, I just calculated my BMR and it said 1,587. But I want to try and lose 2 pounds a week. So is 1200 calories still ok for me?
  • DanaDoss - your information was helpful for me too. I've been taking in 1200 calories for 3 weeks now also, exercising at LEAST 3 times a week for about 6 weeks now, but didn't start really changing my calories until about 3 weeks ago. Anyways, the scale showed a loss of 5 lbs on 7/12, but nothing since then. I know it…
  • I agree with everyone else, that you need at least 1200-1500, after the calories you burn exercising. I would also recommend taking your cardio up to 30 minutes or more. I have heard that you don't really start burning calories until your heartrate is up, and that sometimes takes 5 -10 minutes, so I think just 20 minutes…
