No problem, I noticed you had other questions on low fat and high protein food also. Feel free to look at my diary. My health coach advised me to eat less than 150 carbs and get my proteins up, I am getting most of my fats from seafood, oils, and nuts. At first, my sodium was way too high trying to get proteins up, so I…

I have found several that I enjoy, natural almonds, high quality cheeses (havarti and mozzarella), seafood, chicken, eggs, turkey sausage or burgers.

I have found that I hate going to the gym. I have no motivation to get on a treadmill, stairclimber, etc. I find it best to get outside and take a hike, swim, bike, etc. once I am a few miles from home, it forces me to suck it up and push on. You could pre-cook pasta or biscuits, pancakes, hard- boiled eggs and warm them in a solar oven (there are plans online or can purchase cheaply). There are also activated…

Ok, you could probably count the climb as using a stair climber. I have ran into similar issues and tried to find a similiar activity to substitute. Most people seem to work out in gyms rather than outdoors. I ended up buying a fitbit, it has been working well for me. Just finished loading my fitbit info for the day. This…

I would say that cross country would involve no trail or a poorly maintained, rocky trail. If you were on a well maintained trail with some hills, I would probably use walking and go with the higher rate of three or four mph.

I agree with the other post. Railroad grades are great for hiking, many areas have a rails to trails program, where they removed the abandoned tracks and you are hiking at no more than a 6% grade. If you are already familiar with camping, you should already have most of the gear you will need. You will want to minimilize…
