I don't have a lot to offer. First I saw that you lost 269 lbs and WOW!!!!!! That is so inspiring!!! I was diagnosed with Type 2 a few years. Over the last 9 months through diet and exercise I have reduced my A1C from 6.9 (diabetic) to 5.6 (normal). Not sure if your sister has a weight issue, but THIS is the best thing she…

Hello and Welcome!!!! Unfortunately, Doctor Oz is a little hated by some on here, so don't mind them when they come and tell you that. Basically the answer will be that there is no 'miracle diet pills' and it's all calories in vs calories out. These items may or may not produce any weight loss effects, but they are…

Forgiving ourselves when we stumble is one of the most important lessons we all have to learn. We're used to beating ourselves up and quitting when we overeat. This is what stops us and brings us back to the old habits that made us unhappy to begin with. I just wrote this to a new MFP friend a few minutes ago and I think…

Hey don't get discouraged, It's only May 2  You can do this!! I would think as a beginner that you would start with lighter weights/more reps just so you can learn proper form which is more important than lifting heavy. Once you learn how to properly lift weights, then increase to heavier weights/less reps. Going to heavy weights too soon could lead to injury due to improper form.…

that is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you look so pretty!!! I can't wait to get there myself!! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

If you are strength training go for the higher end protein, if not go for a low-middle range. It's not going to cause any harm.
-
I've seen all those ranges as well. 1gram of protein per 1lb of Lean Body Mass is a common recommendation, especially when exercising. The below references the .8g per kg of body weight per day (not lean mass, but also uses kg not lbs). I converted the kilograms to pounds for easy calculation below. American College of…

Egg cholesterol is good as far as I've seen, and eggs are one of the best sources of protein. Not sure if you're on a special/restricted diet, but I've never seen scientific information stating to eat 80% carbs or that 20% protein is unhealthy?
-
As far as those referring to chain restaurant pizza being Greasy.. Isn't that really from the pepperoni and sausage? So if you got a ham, veggies, pineapple it would not be greasy right? So then it would be good? I find that I'm usually hungry shortly after eating 2 slices of pizza
-
As for protein, minus meat, eggs are a good source. You could make omelets with the eggs to get more out of them - variety. You may look at adding a protein shake when you need it. There are good tasting ones that don't have a lot of other stuff in it, and they won't give you fat, carbs or sodium. Some other non-meat…

I ended up finding mine at Walmart for $24.99 and it's very accurate, and goes to 440lbs. Looks like this one, but the site says 400lbs, just check your local store for the Taylor Digital glass scale that goes to 440lbs. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Taylor-Digital-Bath-Scale/22046339 I tried a $60 scale from bed bath and…

HCG Diet does look unhealthy to me. What kind of nutritional plan are you planning on following? When you say others discouraged you, what were they referring to? I guess I would want to make sure that you are not trying a unhealthy plan like 500 calories a day or something - cause I would discourage that. I always try to…

sent a request and bumping for good measure

Well hello to you! Or perhaps you prefer: :flowerforyou:

That is AWESOME!!!!! Doesn't it make you feel so good when people notice your hard work??! 30DS and exercise are great for dropping inches (which is what others see) so don't worry about the scale (which primarily comes from food). You know how you feel and now you know that others are seeing the changes you're making!!…

As a guy when I see girls in the gym I think, 'Damn, they are kicking butt, I better work harder like them." or "Wow, she's pretty and she's kicking butt, I better work harder to get a girl like that." Most people lifting weights on their own are not sure about what they are doing, and like to look at other people (guys…

This looks like the shirts I got to workout in. I got them in 6XLT so they cover my butt really good - also got tired of my *kitten* hanging out when on the stationary bike, you can get them in regular sleeves too for casual wearing - again also covers your butt crack. Also I look just like this guy on the…

Yeah I got workout clothes from Casual Male XL, I think they are related to Destination XL. They have sizes up to like 10x online, usually 6x in the stores. Got sleeveless Reebok shirts and a hoodie. Got tired of my sleeves being tight when trying to lift weights. They have a large selection of clothes from workout to…

Dang!! You are looking sexy!!! Congrats on doing such great work!

OK here it is so far... My weight hasn't dropped as fast as I wanted or it should have, but this pic shows the 74 inches I lost even though it was only 35 lbs. I've since reached 90 inches as of last month and 46 lbs - need to measure again to see if I've hit 100 inches yet (fingers crossed)
-
You look like you got cut in half!!!! That is incredible!!! Lots of hard work is paying off girly!!! Keep it up!! Happy for you!
