Typically, Protein Shakes are not high in calories, about 120-150 per scoop, and have about 23 grams of protein. Adding protein should never be an issue, and the calories are low. It would be more beneficial if you add some exercise around the shake, but it would not be a negative if you drink them. You want Whey Protein…

Agreed, if you deep fry a chicken (at the high temperatures mentioned above), the water in the meat turns to steam (that's why oil sizzles) which keeps the oil from penetrating the chicken (oil and water don't mix). If you leave the oil on the chicken after cooking and it cools the chicken will begin absorbing the oil. Pat…

Not sure about all the BMR, Net Calories, but to help add calories you could try a protein shake. You'll get lots of good protein that your body needs, plus 120-240 calories (depending on number of scoops). You can try Muscle Milk if you want something quick, else get some Protein Powder and add to water or milk (cow or…

So far for me, chewing sugar free gum whenever I want a sweet snack. Drink water or tea or whatever. FRUITS! I snack on grapes, apples, plums, bananas to satisfy that sweet tooth. If you are still having trouble try Sugar Free Jello. For a full dessert make a bowl full of: Sugar Free Jello Mixed Fruits (blackberries,…

Protein is what you need before/after a workout. Eggs are great or a protein shake. I eat 4 egg whites+ 2 eggs w/yolk scrambled + grits or oatmeal.

are you looking for ideas for meals that you can eat that will add up to your 1200 calorie daily goal? You may want to start another thread topic so people can help with that, many will likely skip this topic since it's a technical issue.

Oops! You look amazing in those pics, btw. I know we all need to feel good about ourselves, but you would look good in a bikini now. Have you tried bicep/tricep curls with keeping your elbows stuck to your sides, so you are not moving your shoulders, only movement is from your hand to your elbow, up/down? A cable…

I'm not a "clean" eater or a vegan/vegetarian, but I am here for motivation if you like. Goes for Smex36 too. I've got 200lbs to burn away, so I'll be here for awhile. Having supportive and motivating friends on here really helps me to keep going, eat better (because I don't want everyone to see the crap I might…

This may have a lot to do with it. Try sticking to your real meal plan 110% for 1 week. It's just 1 week and see how it changes. It was the same for me, figured those little extras wouldn't do anything, but it did. I stuck to my plan 1 week and lost 8 lbs (not typical, don't get crazy, lol)

HA!!!

Syntrax Matrix has Simply Vanilla or Creamy Vanilla and they both taste great! They also have Syntrax Nectar Vanilla Torte which is also tasty - I usually mix half vanilla with whatever other flavor I'm drinking. Depends on what you are using it for. Matrix has slow (casein), medium (egg) and fast (whey) acting proteins…

You also need to decide if you are using the protein shake for just a workout drink or as a meal replacement. There are Quick Release proteins, Medium Release, and Sustained Release proteins. A quick release is for before/after a workout, a sustained release is more for a meal replacement. Syntrax Matrix contains all 3 so…

I drink 2 protein shakes a day/2 scoops each (about 46 protein per shake/ 220 calories). I eat 2400 calories a day. The shakes are great if you are exercising. They do not add mass unless you are taking one specifically for gaining mass. They provide protein that your body uses during/after a workout. When you eat few…

When I first started with my trainer, she was giving me a nutritional meal plan removing all my favorite junk foods and my eyes must have been popping out of my head, cause then she said, "It's Just Food." Not sure why, but it made me realize what an emotional attachment I had made to my food, and changing the types of…

Also, you can order a smaller burger (regular burger, double burger, happy meal etc.) and replace the fries with Apple Slices - a lot of them have this now. Unsweet Tea (add your own sweetener if needed), Diet Soda or milk for the drink. Goodtimes burgers are also supposed to be a better 100% real beef burger as well.

Along my journey I was trying to include a daily fast food item, now I've almost completely excluded them. Here are some suggestions: Qdoba or Chipotle Crispy (not soft) Tacos (any meat) lettuce and cheese only - salsa is FULL of sodium - just like most of subway meats! You can also remove the shells and dump it all into a…

Sounds like you're being self-destructive. That is usually how a lot of us gained weight to begin with, we feed the self-hating, low self esteem, depression. We try and fill the void with food, but it's only temporary joy. You need to find a way to start believing in yourself and all the great things you can accomplish.…

Looking over your diary, it does look like you are usually pretty good to sticking to your goals. My suggestions (just on what my trainer tells me) reduce your carbs and increase your protein. You seem to love cereal (I used to love cereal too) which is full of carbs. Maybe try replacing the cereal with eggs. If you're…
