I dont think I could possibly be in starvation mode at all. When I say take a break I mean I eat at maintenance for awhile sometimes a few months. And I know how to do this since I had been at the same weight for a few years. Not gaining or loosing. Anyways, with a 500 cal deficit I was eating 2100 calories a day. Since…

It is really hard to calculate it, and with out a heart rate monitor etc it will be almost impossible. Something you might try doing, since mfp says it would be 1200 cals cut that in half. I have a bodymedia fit and also have a job where I am on my feet all day. And I have discovered that there are spikes and lows of…

I think so. I noticed a huge change in my (regularity) with it. And if you look up the nutrition info on the web you will find all the benifits of it. I just ran a search for " why is flax seed good for you" found all kinds of stuff. I put it in my oatmeal in the morning. When I have a protein shake I add it then too. I…

Welcome! I am super excited too! I see all the success pictures on here and want to be a part of that. Welcome!

I hope so! I just did the fit test again last week (this is my third and final start) Should I do it again or work in my endurance by doing the day 2 twice on monday and tuesday?

This is what I have found. In all my years at different sizes and with my mom who also lost a lot of weight. It seems that what ever bust to waist ratio you have that is what it will always be. So even when you were heavier if your bust was considerably bigger then your waist that will stay the same but as your waist gets…

I have had a few false starts with Insanity. I can not get thru the whole work out of day two. I have a question. Is it ok until my fitness level gets better that I take a break and just finish the work out later that day? I can only get about 25 mins in. I used to be in much better shape last fall but I came down with a…

I have found that if I eat protein with my carbs this doesnt happen. I have a very active job and discovered if I ate just oatmeal for breakfast I was hungry again in two hours. But when I had two eggs with a piece of whole wheat toast that didnt happen

it might be better and more productive to try instead to get down to a certain body fat percentage. What body fat percentage do you have now?

I have been a carbs adict since a child. Not so much sweets but LOVED breads, potatoes, pastas etc, well you get the picture. So now my rule is carbs have to be whole grain. Whole wheat pasta, bread etc as well as cereals. Now I LOVE steel cut oats and quinoa. And I try to limit my potatoes. It has made a huge difference…

I am not an expert but I would start with switching to whole milk for breakfast and adding some ground flax seed to your oatmeal. That will up your calories and the flax seed will add some healthy fats. Also add an egg cooked how you want and maybe some blueberries or strawberries or a cup of your favorite yogurt. this way…

this, I have 3 free aps on my android phone called daily yoga for back, hips and abs. They are each 10 mins. Does wonders.

Recently discovered Quinoa so bumping so I can follow. Right now we are adding it to pretty much every salad. The other day I took some to work and had it with a greek salad from work and some steamed shrimp all tossed together. It was awesome. Normally I would eat that greek salad and some edamame and be hungry in a few…

Both, They know their grandma (my mom) and her health problems and they know that obesity and addiction (my grandfather was an alcoholic) runs in my family. So we have to be more careful then most people. And they know how to read nutrition labels and are educated about foods. That all sugar and treats are ok in…

And hopefully they pass this on to their children and so on. Since I know this gene is not going to go away any time soon. Could take 4-5 generations to become dormant. But they are educated and I just wanted people to know this is possible. And I am not one of those organic whole foods moms. I cant afford it and dont have…

Yea my husband LOVES the stuff, and when we got married and he moved in and asked me to buy some at the store when I got groceries I had to tell him that it has more sugar then Jelly! And Jelly is SUPER sweet. Now granted it is delicious. And the commercials are misleading then you just have to read the nutrition label.

I think the 3 hook thing has to do with how big your cup size is. I have been a 34DDD since I was 18 and I only weighed 135 at the time. So.....I dont really know what my point was anymore lol :) to hungry. Waiting for hubby to get home so we can eat dinner since the kids are with the grandparents tonight anyways..........

I am totally going to make this tomorrow! I recently discovered quinoa and LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing

They cant tell you that you cant do it. I would just ask them what time would be better. And if that doesnt work out transfer to a downstairs apt. Just because you have a lease doesnt mean you have to stay in that unit. Or they can move to a different unit. I would go to the office to address the issue.

The almonds, yogurt and tuna are all very good for protein. Also I dont know if you have access to a fridge or freezer at work but the steamable bags of edamame are a favorite snack of mine. Filling and satisfying with lots of fiber, protein and healthy fats.

I work a late swing shift, usually getting off around 1-2 am. So I broke up my diary into 4 hour blocks. So it isnt meals, just what I ate in that time. Since I am also more of a grazer.

Chipmaniac- With that smile I am going to say Sales

did you mean 1 gram of protein for every lb of lean body mass?
-
I think I am going to start making them for myself also :) I am a food server, so sometimes I dont get more then a few minutes at a time to take a bite or two and a shift can last for hours. I have been packing nuts, fruit, string cheese, and a yogurt etc. But I love this idea of olives and crackers!

Awesome job! You continue to inspire me!

And vegetable fats are also really important. Eating enough of the right fats can actually help your weight loss. Dont worry about hitting your fat macros. And it is easy to do even being a vegan.

This, I have found layers with the shortest ones hanging just below my chin make a huge difference so I have used that haircut for years.

I am just like you, after a work out I just want to fall asleep. I have even fallen asleep on the floor where I was resting and cooling off after a really intense work out. The kids thought it was hilarious while they had to step over me in the living room lol. So I would really like to know what the responses are
