YES this feeling is amazing. After my bodyweight circuit tonight, I was sweating hella and feeling incredible. It lasted a few hours :)
-
yay, great challenge! I think I'll try for walking 3 miles a day
-
do y'all also know if editing a recipe also retroactively edits the nutritional info for all the past times you've used it?

Are you trying too hard, too fast? Maybe start by making a couple small changes that will become habits, which will make them second nature so you won't have to consciously think about them. Your body/mind be fighting back because you're trying to do too much in a short amount of time. Some people require a clean start to…

I think this is the moment in which we collectively throw our hands in the air and just wish her luck. Her hip problems will only get worse as she ages if she doesn't do enough weight-bearing exercises to strengthen her muscles and bones.

Are you still going to measure yourself? It sounds like a good challenge, but I also find myself compulsively measuring myself and getting disappointed...
-
It can be really challenging because when I'm stressed out, all I want to do is eat. I'm preparing for a big trans-Pacific move and I've been super hungry lately. I've been channeling my feelings into pushups and whatnot, but it's hard. Doing small things like getting away from the computer every hour, walking up and down…

congrats on your loss! you look great!

YES, especially important is the making you feel good psychologically. Great motivator because calorie deficits make people grumpy/hangry. Physically, why wouldn't anyone want to feel strong and powerful in their own body? It also allows me to eat more, so why not?
-
great idea! I'd like to lose 15 lbs by then. I have 30 total, but at the rate I'm losing, it's going to be super slow.
-
Glad you brought this up... I was staring harder at myself and noticed my body's a bit uneven, too. Maybe it will balance out as you get smaller? You can't control where you lose weight. If you're concerned, go see a doctor. Do you have any pain?
-
Yep, I'm a slow loser, too. I lost about 20 pounds at the beginning of this year simply by walking about (hours and hours each day), but have only managed to lose 1 kg (2.2 pounds!) in the past THREE months. There are days where I feel like I'm gaining, even though I know that can't be possible with the deficit I'm…

My calf circ is huge for my height. Height: 5'2 Weight: 162 Thigh: 24.6" Calf: 16"

I've done well on the water front, but ate a bit too much while on holiday this past weekend. Getting back on track, though.
-
Today I learned how to ride a bike and rode for almost 2 hours!
-
yeah... I now transfer that rage onto doing push-ups instead. It makes you feel a lot better than eating your anger!

How sedentary are you? A lot of people think they're "sedentary" yet walk a few miles a week. If you're truly sedentary (you sit all day, walk minimally, and pretty much just lounge around playing video games/watching TV), then add some exercise. it can be as simple as walking around the neighborhood for 30 minutes a few…

I think I'm going to have a side of beer with my cheesy pasta today.
-
Wait... this can't be part of my "strength training"????????????????????
-
Holy crap, your results are incredible and you kept it simple! I'm still working on bodyweight routines right now, but hope to be lifting heavy by the end of this year. This is great motivation! Even for women :P

Food is so emotional for so many folks. Raising your daughters to have a healthy attitude towards food AND their own bodies is one of the most important things you can do for them in such a hostile world. A number of us grew up in unhealthy homes with unhealthy habits, helping to lead us where we are. It didn't make us…

Do whatever you want, as long as you don't sue the state or your doctor when you get sick.
-
Well done! I love your documentation of the process.

Fabulous post! We need to be our best selves, no matter what weight we're at. There's too much fatphobia in the world already. You have to love yourself every step of the way, otherwise, if you haven't learned to love yourself, you aren't likely to do so magically if/when you do get thin. There are lots of miserable thin…

Honestly, I haven't lost a crap-ton of weight by the changes I made. To begin with, I'm not a soda drinker, and I don't eat fast food. Occasionally I have a beer/glass of wine, but only one or two because my alcohol tolerance sucks. It's hard to cut out "junk" food when you don't eat a lot of it to begin with. I've always…

these all look A-MA-ZING. please share the recipes :)

All great things to keep in mind, thanks!!

lots of squats!

I don't log everyday cleaning tasks (eg, dishwashing, tidying, etc) because they are accounted for in my activity level. I guess if it's a task that you only do once in a while and that which makes you break a sweat -- like moving boxes around, weeding your yard, or whole house mopping (and putting your back into it :P) --…

For this short challenge, I'm going to go with a conservative 12 pounds :) My UGW is much lower. SW: 73.5kg (162 lbs) GW: 68kg (~150 lbs)
